My only issue with the lesbian character is that she spends 7 episodes hardcore flirting with Steve

I watched it for a second time and there were a lot of scenes where she was "giving him the eyes" but maybe I was mistaken and it was a ploy for the show.

What was meant by not the American at the ending credits. Who is the American in the cell?

Gonna say hopper
There were no Hopper Bits after the explosion.

Definitely, especially after they fell to the floor while tied to the chairs.
The biggest thing, though, is when she tells him that she used to stare at him all day in class, and nothing more. Seriously, what would any reasonable person conclude after hearing that?
Then, a few hours later, only after he professes his love for her, "lol womp womp - lesbian."
I've seen this routine many times on film. I just call it the dicktease lesbian. Who knows? Maybe it's to do with "lol male tears" or some other pointless bullshite, but it's definitely a thing.

That Die Hard homage
Also Hawaiian shirt Hopper will be by far the most popular Halloween costume for chubby dudes

mediocre Netflix
Now I'll give you the idiocy of melting over one gay character but you can't just sit there and call this show mediocore

The end with Hopper reading the letter to the rendition of Heroes hit the feels in all the right ways.

Anybody have any thoughts on the fact Hopper’s first daughter who died of cancer was a patient at Hawkins Lab (same place 11 came from?) I didn’t remember that I guess I need to rewatch S1
The actor said in an interview he didn’t want to go into it too much but he thinks that will come back up in the future for sure. Pretty Interesting

I’m glad I watched it alone for that reason. shite would’ve been embarrassing

All kinds of theories. Either Hopper or Brenner. Darkhorse: Murray.

Probably will tie in with that one group from last season

Just finished, I liked it. I felt bad when Smirnoff died

Speaking of death never thought I'd feel bad for Billy but goddamnt if he didn't redeem himself

Yeah, what a fricked up upbringing. I felt bad for him.

Was I the only one who thought be comedy between Joyce and Hopper was really forced? Previous seasons with them were natural and this came across as try hard. I'm sure they wanted to add levity knowing it was a dark season but it came off poorly. Same with the newspaper board meetings which were cartoonish.

I worked in a lot of different places in the 80s, manual labor to professional offices, and nothing remotely close to that ever happened. People were respectful. That is a pipe dream of someone that never lived in those times.

It was one of the more forced “political” sequences whether people want to admit it or not; not something to be too salty about.
I agree Hopper and Joyce felt like they were overacting in a couple scenes. The one where she asked about dinner felt so awkward, whereas I thought they had natural chemistry in S2.

Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but they just kind of acted like Billy dying was no big deal at the end. All attention was on Hopper. No emotional scene with the little sister or with the MILF who came close to letting her passions get her. He just died, sister screamed, and it was never mentioned again.
