I like the season overall. There wasn't a single episode that I didnt enjoy so it's hard to complain.
The ending had me and the wife crying. I like that it wasnt 11 that saved the day. Pretty easy to see that she wasnt going to be the hero but I'm glad they did it that way. She had saved the day enough. JUST LIKE ARYA KILLING THE KNIGHT KING BABY YEA LETS TALK GAME OF THRONES.
Dustin having to sing while everybody was on the same station was hilarious. That was such a good scene.
I dont know why I feel the need to talk about things I dislike more than I like, on a show that I like, but somehow this board makes me do this now...
Lucas' little sister is the worst person ever. Did she ever say anything that wasn't back talk or sassy? Somehow she was a genius but also a stereo typical ghetto black girl at the same time. Easily my least favorite part of the season.
I feel like they wasted time on a Steve/Robin love story just to make her a lesbian. The fact that shes a lesbian doesn't bother me, I just dont need a love confession during the most dramatic part of the show and it end up being useless.
The Mike and 11 love story for the first two episodes was extremely annoying. I mean him and Lucas were HORRIBLE friends to Will. He's been through 10x more than any of yall and he just gets put on the back burner.

Loved this season. Still not season one, but better than season 2.
As others have stated, Lucas’s sister was a little over the top. Robin being a lesbian pissed me off. She and Steve seemed to have great chemistry.
Side note: Nancy totally cranked my tractor in the season finale. Not only is she calm in an intense situation, she has the wherewithal to load a pump shotgun AND expertly handles the Russian’s semi-auto pistol she picks up.

The whole reason for writing Erica in to a major role was because Steve, Dustin, and Robin needed someone small enough to fit in the air ducts. Later on, Murray, a full grown adult, goes crawling through them with no problem.
Erica crawled through the air ducts in the mall, they were all able to crawl through the air ducts in the base below the mall.

I got the feeling that this season that it was more than just references to 80's culture in products, entertainment, etc. Sure that was all there and it was great, but what I think they consciously did was make the show like an action movie from 1985. That is what it felt like to me. I think they cheesed it up just a tad on purpose. Maybe I am thinking too deep, but I kept getting that feeling.

Yeah that was a huge BS bait and switch. Steve is just collecting friends and life lessons. Really growing as a person.
Just let him find someone.

But super realistic. I know Making out was the all I gave 2 shits about when I was that age and had my first GF.

It was almost too 80s. They took everything thing you imagine from the 80s and threw them into every episode. There were actual women in the 80s who didn't have perms and guys that didnt wear shorts short enough to have their nuts hanging out and not everything was neon.
It didn't bother me or take away from the show but I thought about it while watching and it was like they were trying to 1 up the 80ness of the 1st two seasons.

the ones with no perms, longer shorts, and not wearing something neon were in the very large minority though... big hair, short shorts, and neon were a HUGE staple of the 80's.

Any guesses on what the green ooze was?
Posted on 7/8/19 at 5:09 pm to S
I thought the ooze powered the laser cannon that was opening the gate. Not sure where it came from though.

Jonathan being proto Frank West amuses me.
He better get a "We've covered stranger things, y'know" to a helicopter pilot before the end

Yea its def like a fuel of some kind, wondering what it actually was.

I really need to rewatch seasons 1-3 before 4 comes out. Regret not doing a rewatch before 3. I had almost forgot the best line from S2: “So Jonathan, how was the pull out?”

BTW, who the hell decided the Ell custody deal? Hopper legally adopted her at the end of season 2, but that custody wouldn't have conveyed to Joyce. I found it weird that she was leaving with them although I'm not sure what the alternative was.......

I'm thinking Dr Owens pulled strings again.
Joyce was the first adult that parented her. When she went into the pool in season one. So it makes sense.

The song could be signaling that Hopper is still out there
Just finished and catching up, but is there any doubt that Hopper is the American in the cell in Kamchatka?
I guess the others in the cells were the Russians that were also vaporized? Well, not vaporized but teleported somehow.
Overall really enjoyed the season even though it felt more like an action movie than a thriller.

I figured the guy they fed to the demogorgon for example was just some random Russian miscreant or a traitor, but thats an interesting theory.
