I wonder if him being invited to the JL set had anything to do with it. I mean, that was basically a negative review, but he ends up giving it a fresh rating
Maybe. I get the feeling he's trying to appease everyone. He pleases his followers and his haters with what he did.

im wondering if this has to do with Geoff Johns being promoted. He has time and time again given fans what they wanted in a very organic and creative way when the comics begin to slide in a bad direction. I feel like SS might be the last of this "lost direction."
I mean, I still think I'm going to enjoy it. Like I said before, the negative reviews are starting to become numbing. But I said this about Suicide Squad a few days ago, this thing was all but completed before all of this "DC change" stuff started happening. They did some reshoots, but it was mostly done. WW had begun shooting. I think we'll kind of get an idea after WW, but I don't think we'll know fully what DC wants to be until after JL. They are changing.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious the studio interfered with this one. WB doesn't deserve to have DC.

We'll never know for sure, but I believe the reviews would have been bad anyway.

This is the most honest response thus far. They really don't. They got in early and have taken their properties for granted for decades just based on how popular Batman and Superman are. They never had to try. Marvel sold their highest properties and had to earn their spot. It clearly shows, although when Marvel achieved their success they never changed their formula and the shite is now stale.

I think WB is guilty of putting too much trust in the wrong people initially, then they failed at trying to salvage. They just don't have that guy like Marvel has. Maybe Affleck and Johns will do better with more control. Maybe they won't. I don't think we'll know for sure till JL.

Here's a good rule of thumb: focus on one major storyline: If Snyder had complete control I'm sure he would pick 5 of the biggest JLA stories and cram them into 1 movie like he did with TDKR, Death of Superman, and Wonder Woman.

IMBD has it at a 9.3 rating. The reviews do seem to be all over the place but why is Rotten Tomatoes still used in these threads?

That would put it in IMDBs top 5 all time and you think that's reliable at this point? IMDb ratings are a joke until at least a month after a movie comes out. Rotten Tomatoes is way more reliable at this point

I'd accept watching Green Lantern every day for the rest of my life before I'd accept DC being another of Disney's fricking properties.

See the actual movie before you slit your wrists.

There's others aside from Disney.

And what they’ve given us is a formulaic, blood and bullet-riddled David Ayer (“Training Day/Fury”) superhero thriller starring a high-mileage Will Smith and Margot Robbie’s butt-cheeks.

That's the best review I've read for a DC movie in a decade

Beforee 2008- When Marvel had their first film and DC had a successful comic book movie run for 40 years- but DC is playing catch-up. So cute.
