That's actually Fox. Guardians is a blast, but I'm gonna disagree with you on Ant Man. That movie sucked, IMO.

I mean I doubt it's a painful movie to watch, just not as good as it could be with some serious issues. Sounds like there's still some good moments.

True, plus Margot Robbie in bootie shorts the entire time helps.

I thought we were just discussing Marvel properties?

I have absolutely loved the xmen franchise since first class. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have been awesome and Fassbender is an incredible Young Magneto.

WB doesn't deserve DC

It's hard to agree with this completely, but I do to an extent. Warner Brothers has put out the absolute hands down greatest iterations of Batman and his enemies in animation. Batman TAS and his animated movies are the absolute best comic book movies and shows ever made.

Nolans first two films were fantastic. We'll never know what the third movie could've been if Ledger didn't kill himself.

But they have been wiffing hard on live action outside of Nolan for a long time. Especially with Supes. We'll have to see what Johns can do. And I'm excited and hopeful for Affleck's trilogy.

I have all but given up of Snyders Supes. He's blows hard. He's a worse adaptation than Iron Man 3's Mandarin. And I fully stand by and will defend that statement.

Marvel Studio properties. They have no say so in X-men and Fantastic Four stuff.

So yeah, Deadpool doesn't fall into the "Marvel" movies. IMO, Guardians is their best movie. You're right, it got to be its own thing and was completely different. It also had no connection to their universe. They allowed that movie to do its own thing. Unfortunately their other movies don't get the same luxury.

While Ant Man was decent, it followed the exact same structure as all of their others movies.

And what they’ve given us is a formulaic, blood and bullet-riddled David Ayer (“Training Day/Fury”) superhero thriller starring a high-mileage Will Smith and Margot Robbie’s butt-cheeks.

That's the best review I've read for a DC movie in a decade

I see nothing wrong with that.

I would rather a well placed ruse, a clever attempt to trick me.

As a response to a Kevin Smith shot, this deserved

You know what makes me sad? We will probably never get another Superman solo film again. I know this is off topic and I said this after BvS, but looking at these reviews, I can't help but get reminded and saddened all over again. I don't know what we'll see in JL, but this might be the only time I ever see Superman in a heat vision battle:

and as a DC fanatic, that get's me depressed. :(

Well as long as the movie has some fun action scenes I am in.

I think with this one, whether or not you have fun will depend on your attitude going in. It's sounds like a wacky mess, but I intend to give it every benefit of the doubt.

Damn, I must be completely out of touch. I thought BvS (especially the Ultimate Edition) was a good movie and GotG was an embarrassing cheese fest. After all the sunshine pumping about the movie, I DVR'd it. When I sat down to watch it, about 30 minutes in to it I seriously started to wonder if all the posts and threads about it here were an elaborate long-con troll job. The distempered raccoon is a bad CGI version of ALF whose buddy is a monosyllabic walking tree. By the time the movie was over my only thought was, "Please don't get incorporated into the larger MCU. Please don't get incorporated into the larger MCU..."

Guardians of the Galaxy established a tone for each of it's characters and stayed with it the entire film. A few serious moments, yes, but it was just fresh and fun. The jokes were hilarious as well.

Haven't seen BvS, so I can't compare, but to shite on GotG is just stupid. It was a great film that came along at a perfect time.

not trolling here, but as a guy who is down the middle on comic movies, i just want to see a good movie, dont care on genre.

with that said, did fans honestly think by the trailers that this looked really good? from the minute i saw the buzz last year and saw people jizzing in there pants after the first trailer, i honestly thought it looked awful and over the top.

i mean lets face it, it has will smith in it in a comedy role. it looks like wild wild west will smith. thats red flag number 1.

i hope this is decent, just saying it never looked that great to begin with IMO
