there has been no racism in this season.

Except for the casting, you are right.

Rocksroy was edited to look like a bossy jerk until the episode where he was on isolation island. No one should have been overly surprised that he was voted out.

Drea made it sound like it was a common occurrence that several black players get voted out one after the other but that’s impossible since casting has usually been in line with the racial makeup of society in general.

At least the players are all in agreement that no one there is racist and members of the jury won’t base their votes on race.

So the 2 Asian looking gays vote off the black guy? and the 2 black women get their feelings hurt and blame the white people & say “subconsciously it’s racism” and they wont stand for it. So they blow their idols. Jesus Christ these people are weak.

All the while the white firing off questions is raking in big money on these idiots.

1. Nobody has mentioned the fact that these players have $1 million on the line and have gone more than 2 weeks with little food. They’re going to say and do things they wouldn’t normally do. So, agree with Drea and Maryanne or not, keep that in mind.

2. Regardless of personal feelings in the issue, kinda figured a true Survivor fan and competitor would applaud Drea’s move. It buys her a couple of tribal councils and a few jury votes. Planned or not, that’s smart game play.

At what cost?

Suppose one of the females gets to the end with Jonathan and decides, well, I sure can't beat him - so I'll just maybe drop some hints at tribal council that his behavior has "crossed a line". Now what? Game play means exactly that - GAME play. Unless someone is actually guilty of it, dropping the R bomb isn't game play...at all.

I disagree. She bought herself a week, which she could have done anyway, but now she has a massive target on her back. No one will want to go to final tribal with her.

Can’t wait to find out if this burns her or not.

The way the edit is playing out, it feels like Omar is the one to beat.

Well I’ve seen enough of Drea to decide she’s got some more “subconscious racism’ coming for the white folks. While the 2 gays head to the winners circle.

I will give Jeff credit here. He leaned into the situation a bit, but not nearly as bad as I thought he would. It was much worse last year as the one guy cried because he was going to vote out a black woman. This time, I felt like Jeff really just turned comments back to the group. He didn't get obnoxious by commenting on society.

Having said all that, I was hoping to see an answer as to why Lindsey didn't play the shot in the dark. Is only one person allowed to do so? If not, there was literally no reason to refrain from playing it. Drea, Johnathan, and Maryanne had all voted for Tori. Lindsey's vote meant nothing.

ETA: Found the answer on Reddit. There's only one safe scroll. (This actually may have been answered earlier in this thread and I forgot). So, the show may have edited out them telling her there was no point in playing it as well. Either her or Tori were going home.

even if there were 2 safe scrolls, she definitely should not have played it.

the only way for her to have been safe or for it to have mattered were to be if they both drew the safe scroll. that's 2/12*1/11= 1/66 chance of a successful shot in the dark.

would have been a terrible decision to use it.

Why? If they add a safe scroll for everyone that plays it, what is the risk in playing it? The cost of the shot in the dark is that you give up your vote that night. The other three tribe members already said they are voting for Tori. Lindsey's vote meant nothing. Unless I am forgetting something, in the event that there would be multiple safe scrolls, it would make absolutely no sense to skip it.

You also can't ever use it again. She made the right play saving it for when her head might be the one on the block.

ETA: Each tribal had their own 1/6 though, so moot point.

Ok, that's the detail I missed.

I guess in theory someone safe later could give their die to another player... don't know if that has been covered. Each player got one to start the game though.

This. You get one for the entire season. Because the tribe was split, they went back to 1/6 instead of 2/12.

Basically, if Tori was safe, Lindsay wouldn't have been safe no matter what. Since Tori wasn't safe, Lindsay playing it and being safe wouldn't have accomplished anything different except taking away that option later in the game.

Maryanne got told where that idol was as a reward for last week's tribal protest. If Drea wasn't already given 6 idols they'd have gotten her one too.

Yeah, can’t believe that. Would have lost a months pay Omar had a girlfriend.

No doubt producers told Maryann where the idol was. They made a bird sound where the idol was sitting so she could look. Such bullshite

She was wearing a crucifix around her neck, too.

I wonder if it bothered Jonathan on some level that they didn’t vote him out. Even if he won every immunity challenge from now on, I think he’d come in second or third against any of the remaining players. They’d paint him as a one-dimensional meathead who lacked strategic thinking. Even Mike has a better social game going.

Second and third still get prize money, plus more likely to get invited back, so no I doubt he's bothered at all.

He probably also thinks he can beat them all in the end. I think he beats Romeo and that might be it.

Great play all around to get rid of Hai, although I was hoping it would be Drea.
