I think the idea of the episode was to make us suspect them all. Obviously McGlinty making the call right after the meeting with Tom, Aleah had the phone, Grasso should’ve noticed the switch, every time Tom or McGlinty go through the files they stop and stare at Snicker and the fact that she wasn’t vetted the same way the others were. “All roads” kind of lends itself to that idea as well.

The cell phone they’re supposed to be using is Gill’s ex cellmate’s, the tweaker they arrested last episode. It has a Philadelphia Flyers logo as a screen saver. In the first scene of Ep 4 during the FBI briefing it appears to be in an evidence bag Aleah is holding but we’re never shown the screen saver in the scene. Later on during the sting in the park when Cliff thinks he’s txting his old cellmate, it’s supposed to be going to the phone Task has, the one Grasso is holding, but then we see Jay holding the actual phone so he receives Cliffs message instead of Grasso. Apparently, sometime between the interrogation of the Gill’s buddy and the meetup at the park, the phone was switched and the real one was given to Jay by the mole.

Getting old sucks. I had to pause a couple times and asked my wife the names again because they were using them so interchangeably.

The phone that was in evidence ended up in Jayson’s hand. Someone with access to evidence got it to Jay. I think boss lady is pulling strings to Grasso because she has some sort of leverage. She chose the team. That would explain him using a different phone. At the park Grasso was a bit freaked out by the response to the lost dog people. He knew the location changed and was worried for some innocents? One caveat, the tweaker specifically said they talked via Snap. Can FBI access a Snap login and use it from a different phone?
I really hope Maeve has a good fate.. Robbie or Maeve broker back the remaining Fent for her and kids to make it out. Jays days are done. Part of the deal is Robbie gets time with Jays .. Tom will find some solace from saving the kids.. That’s the bright side, which I doubt will happen..
I’m really enjoying this series, and the positive chat. The MTV board used to be the best. I hope it can find its place again.

I’ve also been thinking it’s more than one mole. First I thought for sure it was Grasso but last 2 episodes I get the feeling it’s Aleah. She was the last person with the phone and she took the phone from the interrogation. Basically she’s made it a point to always be in possession of it. Plus we’ve been given no backstory on her other than she was abused. Maybe McGlinty is the one who got her out of that situation, maybe her ex is a convict or worse, a Dark Heart. The show has been good about raising suspicion of them all though.

What a show. I can’t remember the last show that’s had me this captivated. Maybe Better Call Saul. It is excellent all the way around.
