Hard to feel bad for a guy who looks like a model, had a legitemate push from Hollywood to become a giant Star, has made millions and starred in some really memorable TV and film... And has probably gotten more grade A arse than the Rolling Stones and likely ravaged an absolute prime, pre-Jeter herpes Minka Kelly...
Damn. When you put out that way, frick that dude. He can eat a dick for all I care.

I watched Savages. I liked it, despite the narration story telling style, and the cringey lines.
This is one problem I have with the story. Ben is a liberal Berkeley guy who wants to help people in the 3rd World. I can see him enjoying this "wrong kind of threesome" situation. But Chon (Kitsch) is a vicious-when-he-needs-to-be vet who enjoys his enforcer role and isn't afraid of the cartel. I don't believe for a second that he would participate in the "wrong kind of threesome."

Kit Harington seems destined for the same career trajectory.
The problem with Harrington is his screen presence - he doesn’t have any - and, with him being like 5’6, he’s going to need a lot of it

I actually think John Carter is a fairly good movie. I believe it will gain more and more respect as time goes by. It never could overcome the overblown budget. It has a slower pace but otherwise a descent movie. I spent a lot of money on worse movies over the years.

A lot of folks liked it, and I think some of those that didn't went in looking for it to be awful. Not their fault, since the media repeatedly told them that it was a "bomb", which most translate to "bad movie."
I'm glad that it's on Disney+, so that more and more people can see it and wonder why they didn't like it so much at first.

I think it suffered from a number of things, all external to the actual film:
1) I've read the books and enjoyed the film, but a LOT of the book fans felt betrayed by it. JC should be more of a Conan-type story, but with a wilder science-fantasy element. More adult (nudity), more graphic violence, more grandiose.
2) The books being old, there was a bit of unfamiliarity with them, and some ignorant/uninformed people actually thought the movie was a ripoff of Avatar. The truth- that it was the story ripped off- never really took hold.
3) This is just a theory of mine, but I suspect it was sabotaged by elements within Disney as far as marketing etc.
I have no hard evidence other than it was woefully mishandled; but understand: Disney picked up first Marvel, then Star Wars, not too long after this came out. Those moves were probably in the works at the highest levels even as this was made, and I wonder if someone thought "we don't need THIS, when we have THAT in the works".
A successful JC series was not guaranteed to stay successful, while the other 2 properties seem(ed) bullet-proof; and even Disney doesn't have infinite resources. Better to consolidate and build outward from the big 2, instead of risking capital on an unknown property.
And heck, maybe had JC been big, Disney doesn't move to scoop up the other properties... which would have left whoever pushed those moves hanging out to dry.

I watched battleship again last night, love it.
I did read a comment on YouTube about how the movie made the aliens bombs look like the battleship pieces…fantastic!

Battleship is a guilty pleasure.
Doesn’t hurt to have lucky arse Andy Roddick’s smoke show wife in it either.
