Why, they are so weak they apparently are like a bee sting to a dinosaur.

I'm now looking forward to seeing you rip on this show each week, like those old dudes from the muppet show.

I get so sick and tired of seeing gunfire have zero effect on the dinosaurs! Excuse me??? We have bullets now that will tear up metal but in the future they don't have bullets that can penetrate the hide of a dinosaur.

I have a serious problem with this. Why are they carrying guns chambered in (presumably) 9mm and 5.56? Give me a .50 BMG.

Apparently PETA has taken control of the government in 2149 and only stun weapons can be used against bone chewing blood thirsty dinosaurs.

I knew this show would suck when hysterical girl SURVIVED running into the middle of the attacking dinosaurs.

Having her eaten would have been more appropriate and made the lesson about going outside the settlement more striking.

As I said, that scene proved to me the show will suck. They are trying to cater to kids and teens. She absolutely should have died to teach everyone a lesson and drive home how dangerous the place can be.

I still can't get over the crappy fence that evidently only keeps out the largest predators. I imagine in reality, every child in that camp would be snatched up by a winged predator or smaller carnivore in about 24 hours.

The dialog needs to get better. First, I really don't get why whinny bitch son was so pissed at his dad. Second when the wife got pissed at the guy and said "you have already done enough" I had no clue what that meant because he didn't do a damn thing.

The son bitched that he shouldn't have attacked the cop because they might have gotten away with just a fine, well if that is true then it makes even less sense why doctor wife wasn't using her skills to have them living in the luxury of a dome.

Maybe they didn't want to have to be a part of carousel inside the dome?

If you like Sci-Fi/Fantasy then you don't have many options on tv so yes it is worth a try BUT.... This has a large cast with giant sets and I don't see it making it beyond 1 season unless it has stellar ratings which I don't think it will have.

That's kinda why I was asking. I don't want to get invested in something that's not going to pan out. I saw that it pulled in 9.22 million viewers for the premier. That's not very good for something of this magnitude.

Especially when you consider the 20 mil budget for the pilot.

Not going to turn this into a zombie manifesto thread but . . . wouldn't it be smart to kill a small animal within shooting distance of the colony and snipe the big boys when they come in to investigate? One of those big dinosaurs would feed the colony for a month.

Just think of the awesome BBQs they could have daily. Mmmmm, got my hungry just thinking about some TRex Bbq. Or even some good TRex fajitas.

Damn, if some LSU fans were in that colony the damn smoker would be running 24/7.

No BBQs because apparently dinosaurs are immune to gunfire.

Wow, really?

What the hell did they spend 20 mill on? It certainly wasn't the SFX.

The sets were pretty big. I imagine a ton went into set design but also given that Speilberg is behind the show, he probably got a nice production salary.

I didn't think the dinosaur effects were terrible. They weren't great either. The horrible effect come into play when they show big shots of the landscapes.

Normally I won't watch a show that I know will be cancelled but I will have fun picking on this one. With such a large cast, I just don't see how they can keep it going unless unless unless.....

The show is all about the 6ers and Terra Nova and we only see dinosaurs about once every 45 episodes.

This is probably what we will get going forward. Episodes with little or no effects.

I actually liked this show. Off the top of my head:

1. The beginning scenes the show set in a dystopian future were the best parts.
2. The wild girl said those markings on the rocks "look like some sort of equations or something" - good thing the middle daughter is a super math genius.
3. I suspect Avatar guy's son is going to be a Sixer, but I'm not sure how nefarious they really are. They have to have a motive.
4. As mentioned, a major plot hole is the weaponry being used. They have a laser the size of a thumb drive that can slice through metal and apparently a power source. Seems these futuristic folks should have no problem tracking and killing dinosaurs. Especially considering the machinery they must be carrying around for construction.
