That dude has to be some kind of internet masochist to get absolutely ravaged for 100+ pages on a message board.

Thank God it's dead.

Give us more gritty Star Wars like Rogue One and more political shite like Andor.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a Darth Vader story that follows along some of the Darth Vader comic between Star Ware and Empire

I really have no opinion as I have not seen a single episode.

That said, I am amazed by how much some of you know about this shite.

I am true fan, in the normal sense.

Some of you frickers come off as though you have a degree in this shite.

So my question is simply "HOW?"

Congrats to you Star Wars hate bots in this thread. Your repugnant voices were heard and now funding for future Star Wars projects will go to completely creatively bankrupt Marvel projects. Your behavior on this board and across the internet has been an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to well adjusted people that enjoy new Star Wars content.

Melt. We are tired of DE&I being forced down our throats at the expense of good content. Maybe don’t have producers and the lead actress hating on the majority of the fanbase

I didn’t watch or comment on a single thing about Acolyte and as far as I remember, never posted in the mega thread.

It probably had more to do with somebody like me that watched Mandalorian, Bobba Fett, Obi Wan, and Andor but had no interest in this after the lead actor and director made it obvious they weren’t interested in crowd pleasing or story building before the release and were honestly pretty hostile towards certain portions of the fanbase.

At least more to do with that than people on this board bitching about for a few dozen pages.

They’ll turn around and do another Mandalorian or Andor and then get praise and forget this ever happened and Kathleen Kennedy will keep her job. I liked Ashoka fine and would have happily watched a spinoff with Gina Carano or Katee Sackhoff.

I was unsure how they'd handle season 2 so it's probably for the best.

Andor is made by people who actually know how to make a compelling story line, hire actors that don't look like they were pulled from a Starbucks and can actually...act, and visually looks more like a movie than leftovers from a video game.

There is a major disconnect between those people and actual fans of Star Wars. The meme has been played out many times over about Disney and their IP in general, but their creative forces don't appreciate why the stories are popular. I originally typed "understand" instead of appreciate, but they do understand, and you can see it in the new "nostalgia bait" meme.

Star Wars is the wrong IP to try to bring up POC or (especially) women representation. Leia was one of the OG Gen X badass female figures, and she did it without the shitty crutches that these modern "creatives" rely on with women characters.

At the end of the day, the conflict is simple (and this applies to Marvel and Star Wars the same): the people in charge of these IPs do not want to be constrained by the history and themes of the respective IP. They want to tell "their" story, and while they do understand the restraints of the IP they're working within, they don't understand the vitriol that results from actual fans consuming constant subversion of the IP.

Summary: If you want to make your story, create your own IP without the restraints of "nostalgia bait".

What are you talking about? All one had to do was watch Headland’s interviews prior to this being released to see what they were doing with it.

I didn’t watch any of it because they tricked me with Obi Wan, which was apparent a couple episodes in. Star Wars is dead at this point

Man I've been wanting to see the Zahn trilogy on screen since the 90s. I doubt I ever will.

Kennedy has been with Lucasfilm since the start. I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark the other day and saw she was a producer in that.
She came with the acquisition.
I wish Disney would put Favreau or Filoni in that role.

Exactly. If you want to look at the demise of print comics, it’s that people weren’t going to get their ideas/work published on their own merit so the DEI’d their way into existing IP. People will scream “it’s from the source material!!!” about something from Marvel and then not even realize it’s from the source material that Disney enforced after they took over Marvel and started putting in “new management” over creative.

And to be honest and a bit harsh, there’s no way that Weinstein’s right hand “man” works in Hollywood again unless they’re gay/woman/POC.

I will push back on:

Nobody hated Rey, Ashoka, Cara Dune, or Sackhoff’s (not even going to try to remember or to spell it right from memory) because they were women. Rey was a bit of a Mary Sue, but none of those people earned the same ire of the Acolyte.

Why don't they just create their own Network for gays and have all gay shows with gay diverse casts for their gay shows and movies? surely it will be successful!

It would have been an awesome trilogy. Its better than anything Lucas ever cooked up. Thrawn is the best written villain in any book ive ever read.
