I maintain what I initially posted which was the Acolyte was a decent show.
It was garbage.
I didn't really see all the wokeness that many are crowing about because I would have stopped watching it.
Watched it all the way through and the show was just bad.

Not everything needs extensive research backing it, although there is some available I can pull from the query system I have available at work if you absolutely insist you will only be able to read the abstract without paying 20$ per paper though. Some things are simply self evident enough through simple observation and pattern recognition

We should pour one out for Chicken, who was probably planning a nice vacation using the ad revenue from clicks in the season 2 thread.

The cluckster took a major bath on this one. Perhaps he will have to become a pauper.

I'm the same. You are just living in a fantasy world of what I say, which is, again, ironic given your melt.

Ok, so fine, girls are willing to tolerate space as a setting if there is interesting drama and relationships to get invested in.
Isn't that the original Star Wars trilogy?
- Bad guy established as a major threat right away with heroes starting in desperate mode.
- MC who feels they are destined for bigger things/have a special purpose
- MC family killed, driving MC to start journey
- MC finds old mentor who guides them
- Bad Boy joins them
- Mentor sacrifices themselves to give heroes a chance to escape
- Heroes betrayed
- Bad guy revealed to be MC's dad
- Bad guy sacrifices himself for MC.
Star Wars has a largely male cast, which is harder for girls to relate to. The content wasn't the problem. If we switched Leia and Luke's role in the movie and gender swapped Han I would be interested to see how the fan base demographic shake out. Obviously we can't go back in time to change this though.

Yes and that’s why unlike the common myth or attempts at rewriting history Stat Wars has always had a large female fan base relative to the genre it is.

Sammy you’re absolutely embarrassing yourself. Many of us were in the season thread mocking it from the jump
Listen lots of reasons to dislike the show.
Yall then went looking for more reasons.
the Episode 5 fight scene was awesome.
the complaints about it were always dumb as shite.

What you don’t like crouching tiger hidden dragon combat in a show where people have laser guns, laser swords, and magic powers allowing them to manipulate the environment around them? Shocking I tell you
the fights that actually used the mystical powers I stead of just click clacking lightsabers together and flipping?

It was tolerable to ok at best. Made to look better by anything Disney has ever produced for Star Wars in comparison. There were people, not saying this was you as I never saw you specifically say this, claiming it was some of the best fight choreography in all of film history.

Ok I know we will get sidetracked and I apologize, but I would absolutely love to know what in women's biology keep them from enjoying space fantasy entertainment.
I was in college when they rereleased Star Wars. My girlfriend at the time loved soap operas so I told her it was like a big soap opera in outer space. She was hooked on SW ever since

Fighting people with hand to hand combat isn’t using the force. It’s taking stupid unnecessary risks when you have a lightsaber on your belt and the power to use the force. It completely shatters any immersion or world building

This is the most typical critique of the show. “yeah this was good when I watched it hit after I saw 7 videos picking it apart the I found a way to dislike it” Shut up.

I don’t think there is a single fight scene in the franchise where someone uses the force and a lightsaber more effectively than the Stranger in Episode 5.

Again my argument is the genre isn't the issue. It's content.
I don't care if you are a boy or a girl, shite content won't appeal to either. A lot of modern SW content is shite. KK assumed if she threw enough females at the projects that girls would gravitate to it. But it actually has to be good to work. Even the guys who would be willing to tolerate a female filled show get turned off if it is bad enough. They could replace all the females with dudes and these shows would still suck.

no when they used the force it was using the force.

Considering they didn’t want to kill their opponent in these fights the lightsaber isn’t a great option.
