I think it probably has to do with the pacing of the season, but I am just not feeling this season so far. Enough with all the damn twists just give me a challenge and elimination every episode. And I hate the way they have the teams set up. The teams with 2 guys had an enormous advantage in the challenge yesterday. It's no wonder they were at the top.

They have the best elimination process ever this season and they're just kicking people off on the dailies with no elimination.

I knew that was going to happen. And I think they will work through it easily once they talk...that is why I think MTV is trying to draw it out for 2+ episodes, because there is nothing there and they are trying to create dramatic cliffhangers.
I assume he'll ask her about it, and she'll be like "You and I have talked about my struggles with Chuck and those issues, and he and I talked through a lot of stuff at the redemption house. Oh, and Paulie straight up told us he was gonna lie about me fricking Chuck just to mess with your head. You know I love you and only you, babe." And then Brad will be fine.
A fairly unenjoyable episode with a seemingly easy challenge. It is hilarious that Veronica sucks so bad now...she used to be a beast on Challenges, and now she's a layup like CT said (and he's right). And it's funny that almost literally every single scene she's in she has wine in her hand.
This challenge was a perfect example of how stacked certain teams are against everyone else. It's hilariously bad how much of an advantage teams like John/Tony and Brad/Kyle have over literally everyone else. They can't strictly do puzzles only challenges, so any time any sort of physicality is brought in, I expect one or both of those teams to win literally every time.
Every time Nelson opens his mouth, I honestly feel like he's one of the most uneducated people that has ever been on MTV, and that is saying something.
And I didn't know Amanda and Joss were a thing. I either missed that or I don't remember seeing that happen.

Agree with all of that. It's ridiculous. The premise is so strong here and they are blowing it...and they painted themselves into a corner with the choosing of these teams as well.

It makes me think that the reason they are prelonging these episodes is because they didn’t have enough good shite to show
On another note, I wish they would do some kind of vet versus rookie challenge. Like anyone that has been on more than say 6 challenges is considered a vet and anyone on less than that is a rookie. Split the teams up with a guy and girl group on each team and have a guy vs guy and girl vs girl elimination at the end of each episode. House each team in different houses. frick the voting in of people. Have the last place group from each team go against each other each week in the elimination. No politics. Just the best goes to the next round and the worst get sent home. When you get to the final 4 guys and final 4 girls, that’s your finals, with a winner take all on each side. Just one guy winner and one girl winner.
Or have the same no politics game style and have a challenge with nothing by former champs. No one else. You have had to win at least won challenge, (you can even include the B.s champs vs stars), to be on the show and it’s a winner take all format that will crown the best of the best. A true million dollar prize which would pull some of the old beasts out from retirement, (I’m looking at you Landon), and mtv provides each male contestant with an unlimited supply of HGH about 6 months out from the start of the challenge to give his back the likes of roided out Wes and CT. Oh and also, Kenny and Evan’s bans are lifted for this particular challenge.

They never will though. As much as I'd like to see some of the older vets, I have a feeling they won't do it, not even for a cool million.
It would be great with a show that has the likes of Landon, Alton, Mark, Derrick, Darrell, Roid Wes, etc. (and yes, Kenny)....or Susie, Paula, Evelyn, Robin, Rachel, Laurel, etc. But I just seriously doubt that would ever happen, or even come close. Hell, wasn't a season or two that rumors floated around that Mark would be back/ And here we are a season or two later and he still isn't. And on top of that, they seem to be setting themselves up to make some major changes to the challenge shows now.

I also don't really like it, but this is pretty much how this season has gone so far. There have been 4 episodes... and 1 vote? They didn't even know they were going to be voting, so there wasn't even time to be strategic.
The only "drama" in the house has been that Nelson and Kayleigh "fancy" each other and Bananas is hooking up with Angela? Who gives a shite. I agree, let's see some actual competition.

Yeah, thats pretty obvious with the inclusion of other shows, which was this board’s idea years ago. We wanted to see the VH1 crews from the rock of loves and I love money shows added to the challenges. Hell, we even wanted the teen mom crews added.
I also wonder if, when casting these big brother and AYTO shows, there is an eye toward the challenge down the line? I would really love them to cast a guy and a girl for the sole person of being later casted on the challenge. Basically a ringer. Someone like an American Ninja Warrior type dude.

The pacing on this show just keeps getting worse.
That challenge was so much easier for the two dude teams, none of the all girl or coed teams had a chance at the advantage.
I feel bad for CT, but he's not helping himself out losing his cool.

Right, they've had two actual competitions, and Brad/Kyle won and Bananas/Tony finished second both times.
Eventually they will have to incorporate some puzzles/logic games to even it out some.

This season has so much potential with the way the elimination is structured but the teams are setup so poorly I just don't see anything interesting happening. Puzzles don't really make for good TV and anything involving athleticism will be dominated by Tony/Bananas and Brad/Kyle. If they don't win it is bc production stepped in and made it so wildly unfair for them against a girl team

I still love the show, so my criticisms are small. The pacing has sucked for 5 years now, you guys need to get over it. I prefer the generic format as well, but that’s gone so you’re beating a very, very, very dead horse.
Seasons with guy/guy, guy/girl, and girl/girl pairs are fricking stupid. Stop this shite.

This is very true... but it still sucks, and it seems like it has gotten worse.
It used to be the occasional cliffhanger during an elimination, now it's not even getting to eliminations or even to voting sometimes. Although this week was weird because there was no voting or second challenge, just the one and done.

The show is sooo slow. Even for The Challenge. We had an entire episode on an elimination from the people already eliminated once.
ETA: before I get killed for not liking season. Format is really fun..poor CT he has to be at 0% chance right now. You could give him any other chick in the house and he’d have at least a chance. I hope Brad/Kyle and Bananas/Tony last a long arse time.
For those saying they have to balance it, look no further than the Kam vs Paulie spots in that elimination. Paulie could barely reach the puzzle pieces. Kam (yes she’s a beast but still) was able to practically stand on top of the puzzle pieces.
