For a so called scientist and smart guy with a high IQ, Barry sure is one dumb motherfricker when it comes to strategy sometimes.
There were at least 3 times he was hilariously unprepared or just clueless.
The first one was when Barry and Cisco first attempted to open the breach in plain clothes with no guns standing by much less any contingency plan to act on if zoom actually makes it through. They were just standing by opening it like it was a frige with leftovers in it without any concern zoom might jump though it. It was like watching two toddlers play with fire.
Second one was barry monologuing and having conversations with Jay after he defeated him the first time at the lab with the brace on his leg. The second that brace was applied and it stopped zoom, barry should’ve immediately hauled off zoom to the cells below the lab and locked him up in a cell that he can’t run out of. But no, he had to get personal and take a victory lap and have a hero's monologue. There's a reason why cops just don't let violent felons and killers to sit around in open air environments without being heavily restrained and attended to by enough officers or being confined to a cell altogether.
Barry just willingly giving up his speed without any possible plan to take advantage of Zoom’s stupidity like oh I don’t know, sitting down with the gang to give his life story and say creepy shite while being cornered by big guns and flash being way faster than him now. But no, Barry chose to be just as stupid as zoom was in that moment.
Barry needed a lesson in humility in strategics and being ready for every possible scenario that their enemies could use to wiggle out of their captivity. Somewhere in an alternate reality and earth, Batman is triggered as hell watching this episode and Barry’s strategic blunders, lack of situational awareness and stupidity. He wouldn’t be caught dead making the mistakes barry made tonight. There’s a reason why he’s the strategic genius of the justice league with contingency plans for every back up plan.

Entertaining episode, and frustrating at same time. 2 places at once, like Flash I guess.

Yep, Barry needs to learn the way of the dossier.

Don't quite understand why Barry kept his word with Zoom (a serial killer). And now Zoom is on the loose with even more power.
Also, Barry was running 4 times faster than normal this episode. Why wouldn't he time travel at that speed? I thought he had to go really fast to time travel. Didn't think anything else was involved but speed with that.
And not sure how they will explain Barry getting his speed back.

Hell, it went so fast that he jumped to another earth (Supergirl's earth) at the beginning of the episode.

Jay Garrick is usually depicted as a man in his late 60s.

I really hope zooms dad isn't the man in the iron mask. That would be so lame.

This was the most disappointing episode of this show so far.
The most amount of nothing I've ever seen happen on a TV show.

No split personality theory

You don't watch arrow then. It would of been Arrows best episode in two years.

I know. That really bummed me out.

THis episode was stupid on so many level....SO man god damn levels and I enjoyed flash.
1. The moment Wally was let go Flash should have bum rushed Zoom and throw down.
2. There nothing to say Zoom wouldn't kill everyone in the room while Flash give up his power but nope let's just do it.
Like... Wtf barry. That's why your arse get replaced by Wally fricking West, the only true flesh that could defeat zoom.

Thats what I was thinking. No reason for Zoom to keep them alive once he knew he actually had the speed and it wasnt a trick

why didn't wells put that juice he got out of the turtle in the vile and let zoom inject himself?

Man, that episode was a mess. I feel like it's really just not even worth it to type up everything that was wrong

Not really a waste if what people are saying about Barry being the source of the speed force is the same in the show as it is the comics. It gives them a vehicle to inform the watchers of it.

So if Barry is the speed force does that mean he can never lose it? Like it'll just regenerate in him? Also thank god zoom never found out about the device that made Barry faster
Posted on 4/20/16 at 8:50 pm to Byron Bojangles III
That's the way I'm interpreting it. He can't really lose it because he is it.

Didn't they make an entire episode with flash and arrow to teach Barry strategy? Guess he forgot
