I just finished it. Damn, they are sticking the landing. That was rough.
This was a very good Beth episode. And Kate, Kevin, Toby, and Rebecca.

Watched the end again tonight.
I caught and thought it was odd that There was no mention of Kate at the end when Kevin called Randall to get there with the girls because Rebecca was on her last leg. Why would they only show him calling Randall, and not Kate too?
Also, Kate is not shown in any of next weeks previews, even when the whole family is there by the fireplace to tell Rebecca their good byes. Toby is even there as well as kates current husband, but no Kate. She is literally the only family member not in the shot.
I thought it was very odd and I think this was done on purpose for a reason, I just don’t know the reason yet.
Probably over thinking it but you never know with this show.

I'm a grown man, husband, & father with 0.00 issue admitting that I started tearing up watching the scenes for next week with everyone starting their goodbyes.
I am going to absolutely LOSE it all episode next week.

For the longest time we were under the impression that Kate might be dead, but we know by the flash forward to what we assume is Jack Damon's first gig at the piano bar, she and Phillip are not only still together, but Toby's remarried, and everybody's cool.
There's definitely something they're keeping close to the vest.

I’m torn on this because I think you may be right.
The seasons been pretty straight forward with not many twists… this is the last big one they can throw.
But to have something go wrong with Kate here at the end would infuriate a lot of people . I don’t see them doing that either .

Since we know she's still alive, (despite all probability with her morbid obesity), her not being in the shot can't be something dumb. She's not going to miss being at her mother's bedside as they fear she's about to pass away because of some blind kids' concert, etc.
It's my understanding that that house is practically a compound, with separate wings for each of the Big Three, etc. We don't see Evie, Nicky's wife, Kate, or either of her two kids with Toby. We know Toby gets the call, but he's not there at the time of the flash forward. Obviously Sophie couldn't be shown at the end of S3 when we first got that glimpse.
There's more than enough "hiding places" both at Jack's House Kevin built and the cabin next door for everyone we haven't seen in the flash forward.

Mandy Moore said she threw up after reading 2nd to last episode.
So something really bad has got to happen IMO.

Yeah I saw this as well.. one last episode to set the table and logistically get everyone to the big house by the cabin?
This next episode is called “ The Train” so I think it will be Rebecca-centric
To set up the last episode titled “US” which is a good name for the finale. I like that.

Mrs. Vox told me about reading this. I almost wonder if they're going to have Rebecca pass away next week, and the finale will be the aftermath of it all, as the families move on.
I still contend that the very end needs to be Rebecca seeing Jack on the other side. I worry for the safety of the writers if this doesn't happen.

That would seem kind of cheesy to me. Especially when you have Migel who gave so much of himself for Rebecca in the second part of her life. It’s like In Titanic when Rose met her one night stand in the after life and you are wondering about her husband. Obviously Jack wasn’t a one night stand but she had two major loves in her life.

I have a feeling Rebecca passes next episode as well.

I fear my wife is going to go to LA and burn down the studio if Rebecca and Jack aren't reunited in death. This is not a game to her.

Maybe all 3 of them will reunite and live happily ever after in the after life.

I think it's very likely that Rebecca passes next episode. They could still easily have flashbacks with her in it in the last episode. I wonder if one of the ways they might do the US episode is to have them looking back through the boxes of memories about each of them that Rebecca was saving. That might be a nice twist on remembering that's different from some of the ones that have been done before such as writing a book, screenplay, etc.
I don't think anything is wrong that Kate hasn't been shown in flashbacks. I think they filmed those a bit a ago and still hoped she'd lose weight. I think we are supposed to believe something could have happened, but now we know it didn't. They do a lot of that in this series. Initially, lots thought that Toby was in a mental hospital or seriously depressed.

I might join her. I think we absolutely should see Jack and Kyle waiting for her. I just don't see another ending. I think Miguel is there as well and he and Jack are smiling, with Jack thrilled that Migs was there for her.

Why the laugh? This is exactly what should happen!

Meh, they haven't really introduced the after life so why now? Please don't be Lost 2.0.
Let's have Rebecca dies with everyone there next week. The finale is the funeral and the family moving on.
