Just watched and umm, ninja vampire assassins that are themselves vampires? There's an interesting twist I didn't see coming.

You and me both
I felt like I was watching Blade

That was great. As others have said, vampire ninja assassins were awesome, though it is very Blade-esque.

I couldn't help myself, so I went on the reddit subforum for the strain, and I found out who the vampire assassins were. I won't spoil it for anyone, but it adds a GREAT angle to the show.

Does anyone know who played the talking rogue vampire at the end? His voice sounds so freaking familiar but I can't place and I've searched to no avail.
Stephen McHattie?

It's hard to find now since the posts are from yesterday, but just go to the reddit subforum and read the posts there. A lot of them deal with these new assassins.
I am not going to post spoilers here.

I gotta say, that final scene with the commando squad was just pure awesomeness. His voice, his marble-like face, that high tech crossbow weapon, and that final line:
Do not touch her, she's corrupted.
One of the best character introductions I have ever seen.

Just watched last night and holy crap the vamp black ops dudes caught me off guard in a good way. This show is starting to hit it's stride and I like the direction it's going.
So in this universe vamps can die from decapitation, sunlight, and apparently from trauma to the brain like a zombie, plus silver hurts them. Is this all we know so far.

I haven't watched this week's yet, but is this vamp assassination squad something in the books (which I haven't read either), or is it a departure?

My guess is the vamp task force is a group of "pure bloods" or some shite and their intentions aren't to help the humans but to simply control the number of "half breeds" introduced into their little ecosystem. It makes sense with the Nazi sub plot and it's like a staple in vampire lore that the OG vamps look down on the ones that don't come from certain bloodlines.

One thing I don't understand is how the nanny's daughter was "corrupted", when she had no worms get inside of her. Her hand was cut, but I don't think any of the "worms" were able to get inside of her. Does that mean that you can get infected other ways?

Definitely in the books. And it is awesome. And the books are awesome, and you all better hold onto your butts. I haven't read the entire thread, but season 2 was picked up recently. I'm pumped. Show has done a great job sticking to the book plot.

Did you not see her hand get hit by the vampires tongue thing? I think the tongue injects the worms or something.
