Just got out. What a fun movie. Kind of dragged in the second act a little bit but the first and third act more than made up for it.
All of the voice acting was fantastic. Hemsworth was probably my least favorite but by the end he won me over. Also really loved how they showed Optimus and Megatron leveling up throughout the movie and show why they are so much fricking stronger than everyone else
Hopefully people keeping seeing it so we get a sequel

Do I or my kids need some kind of background/prep before seeing it or does it work on its own? I haven't seen any transformers movies, haven't watched a cartoon about it since the 80s. Not sure if there are newer ones the kids have watched other than rescue bots.

I don’t think so. I don’t know a ton of Transformers lore and highly enjoyed myself. They give enough background info to where you’re not lost
