The first mistake was setting the show in Los Angeles. I was under the impression that this season would be taking place in rural California. LA is overdone.

I think the story is that the mexican dealers killed casper. That will close the case until years later when they (adams, farrell, kitsch) reconvene to really solve the case(like last year).
Pizzoloto had a lifetime to craft his first hit and probably months to follow up with a season 2. Guy really came out of nowhere. This is most likely a one hit wonder trying to recapture the magic, i dont see it happening.

Also mcadams character was put on leave from the sherifs office but told she could still work the Casper case. While far fetched it is explained.
This season isn't as good as last but it isn't the shite show some make it out to be.

I must confess, I dug the show up until this episode. The acting and the writing was just awful tonight. Is anyone in love with the show so far?

Meh. I haven't been a fan of the show, but him beating the shite out of that fat pimp and him talking to his wife about infertility were not the same.
