As a stand alone extra content piece.

What did it do for the story?

This season’s story was shite so the extra content piece worked out great.

Idk how I feel about the story. I hold issue with execution and character arcs.

Rewatched S2 about 3-4times. It could have been cut in half to allow for more explanation.

The post credit scene redeemed this whole season by adding something meaningful to explore. That should be in S2 to an extent. Not all the dumb shtt we received.

Whether you want to say the story was good but the execution was bad or that the story was good but the characters didn’t land it doesn’t matter.

The point is that I was mostly bored and uninterested in nearly every character this season. Akecheta’s episode was one moment of genuine emotional investment ina character in a season that is otherwise devoid of anything that draws you in.

Placing it as Ep. 8..... slightly strange, but still better than what came beforehand.

You are massively overrating this. I mean it is more interesting than the main story of Season 2, but it doesn’t redeem the ten hours I had to sit through to get there. Additionally my guess is that the exploration of this going to be another load of jumbled confusing bullshite leading to a letdown:

Why would you watch this season 3-4 times? Especially if you didn't really love it.

It is not in one sitting.

Sunday watch the episode. Monday or Tuesday I usually watch/listen to the episode on my drive into work. Then during the week I might play the episode again but this time with a lot of skipping.

Now for the shtty episodes which did nothing for the story. Those I probably haven't rewatched. except this past weekend.

The show has some very interesting threads. It is also flooded with garbage. We got 2-3 really good episodes this season which kept interest that the show would develop substance. Some arcs did and some arcs proved to be absolutely meaningless. (Every fckking thing with Maeve)

Because I was hoping for more resolution instead of more timelines and complicated shite. Everybody is coming back too. And I really don’t know how this show is going to be “Westworld” anymore or continue on.

Even though the Ghost Nation was a side story it wasn’t stupidly complicated and actually entertaining.

Every week I kept thinking I would get to the end of the season and rewatch it all, but I'm not sure that's going to happen now. Not sure how much energy and time I want to put into "getting" a TV show, especially after reading interviews and explanations from Joy.

Ghost nation and maybe storyline were both 100% pointless though. You could have missed every last second witg mauve on screen through the first 2 seasons, and missed literally nothing about the story. At first she is used to show Williams true self but then but the end of season 2 the show has beat us over the head with that in countless ways. Whether it's him tying his bil on a horse and sending him into the dessert, or killing his own daughter, or at the end whem it completely lays out that he was the reason his wife killed herself not leaving anything for the viewer to interpret. And we Damn sure didn't need to see her chasing after her daughter that had nothing to do with the actual story of delores v humans v William. So yes although the shotgun world and ghost nation episode were cool you could've completely missed those episodes and missed zilch about the story.

I know it was pointless but I found it entertaining which is why I watch TV shows in the first place. What I don’t find entertaining is breaking my head trying to figure out what the whole season meant.

If there is one thing to look forward to in S3 is that the multiple perspective/timeline should be minimized.

They're in the real world now, so (I think) everything should be presented more linearly moving forward in regards to Delores and Bernard.

I might have been swayed earlier in the season, but god the writers get way too cute for their own good to the point where I just can't be bothered to give a frick any more. There comes a point where twists and obfuscation just lose their impact and become meaningless. I tend to like these types of shows you have to work for. But I was just rolling my eyes by the end of this season and straight up turned the "finale" off.

You want less PoV characters?

Or

Less PoVs across different points on a timeline?

It wasn't difficult to follow. They just did a little to much with the not so great Strand twist. Didn't allow us to put everything together before they moved on to the next fruitless arc.

The Bernard timeline PoVs at the beginning are done well. The elevator transition with William going down and Bernard surface are masterful. With post credits it really made you start to connect what we have seen from MiB this season, all those things which did not stay consistent.

The crap of story lines which went no where or got there but took much to long. Missed opportunities to explore other parks and connect them in meaningful ways. Shogun and The Raj are complete wastes of time. What did they add to the story. That one Maeve power up could happen somewhere else. Even the beautiful Ghost Nation did nothing for the story. No real story impact or great insight for the viewer.
