Always loved the Remshaw House (haunted house). A close second is the episode where Luke Comstock, the man who Andy shot in the leg, comes to Mayberry. It's one of the very rare episodes where not only do you see Andy pick up a gun, but also smoke a cigarette.

Damn, I had forgotten a lot of those y'all mentioned. What an awesome show.

I'll add, the one where Otis shows up drunk, riding the cow.

Another in my top 5.

I guess My all-time favorite is "A Wife For Andy"

Barney gathers all the single women he can at Andys house and Andy goes nuts. A Barney Fife Classic.

Kerosene cucumbers is awesome. Probably my favorite is the Hodie Snitch one. Opie is getting his lunch nickle taking from him everyday. Andy and Barney figure out what's going on. Andy tells Opie about a time when he was a boy and this kid named Hodie Snitch messing with him. Eventually Andy had enough and "lit into him like a windmill in a tornado". This of course gives Ope the courage to kick the bully's arse the next day. Great episode. As were every one of them that were in black and white.

20 out of 249 is pretty rare.

Andy made up the story about Hodie too. Solid parenting, of course today Opie would take that advice and the. Get beaten up by the bully and 3 of his friends, then the beat down would be uploaded to YouTube.

The episode where Barney and Gomer are out in the woods and Gomer is calling out for Barney, "Hooty Hoo", "Hooty Hoo".

I used to yell Hooty Hoo, Hooty Hoo to the bands between numbers when I was drunk in the clubs way back when.

Those were the days of peace and happiness. I am opies age and where I lived was a bigger version of Mayberry. That show broke the mold for those shows that came after.

The correct answer needs to be repeated throughout this thread:

"Any episode featuring Earnest T. Bass."

Earnest in school, My Fair Earnest, Earnest meets the Darlings... Gold, Gold, Gold.

Hot Rod Otis.

Cracks me up everytime when Andy and Barney are talking in the jail about how Otis was drunk and wrecked his car and now he's dead.

That scene brings me to tears. Barney's facial expression when he thinks he hears his own voice is absolute hilarity.

The one when the state police come to catch the escaped convict and Andy lets him steal his boat knowing it will sink. "It's too late, I done 10-4'd ya."

When Mr. Tucker's car breaks down and he gets stranded in Mayberry all day.
