Nice! Ran into Herb about a month ago at The Lemonheads show and ended back up at Liars Club afterwards... Dont see him enough, since we keep very different hours!

I saw ROTA at Summerfest in Milwaukee, must have been 1991 so I've been following peripherally since then. I've only seen the Beer Nuts on YouTube but their shows look pretty wild. I'd like to get to the Liars Club on one of my weekend trips to the city.

The Parting Glass

So fill to me the parting glass and gather as the evening falls
And gently rise and softly call goodnight and joy be to you all
Ah
But since it fell into my lot that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call good night and joy be to you all
Fill to me the parting glass and gather as the evening falls and gently rise and softly call goodnight and joy be to you all.
Fill to me the parting glass
And gather as the evening falls and gently rise and softly call goodnight and joy be to you all goodnight and joy be to you all.

Not a drinking song per se, but one of the all-time lyrics, from one James William Buffett’s Ringling Ringling:

And across from the bar there’s a pile of beer cans
Been there twenty-seven years
Imagine all the heartaches and tears
In twenty-seven years of beer

Correct

I’ll also nominate Ten Rounds of Jose Cuervo by Tracy Byrd and Whiskey’s Gone by the Zac Brown Band because both songs’ lyrics are pretty funny
