I just did Fete Du VOID in Oakdale, which was great great great.

We did the Void too. Fantastic festival- the best I have ever attended, very grass roots, homegrown. You have members of the Iceman Special running around doing maintenance, picking up trash, etc. It is pretty special what they have done.

Not the biggest fan of The Iceman Special’s music, but they’re great dudes doing outstanding work for the music scene.

Hey guys, I got this link today. I’m one of the producers and did the original Bandito with my very good friend Eric.

After reading this thread, which I am humbled that someone started, the following users will have complimentary tickets on me. Email federalesfest@gmail.com with a screenshot of your TD profile with username and your cell.

We are trying to give our city something to do on a bigger scale. I produced the Blues Festival for 8+ years and started Bandito and Oyster Festivals with Eric. We had the same vision. My good friend and I teamed up to continue on Eric’s legacy after he passed and our concept. We moved it from downtown bc unfortunately post-Covid downtown isn’t what it was and I’d also challenge all of you to produce a “free” festival downtown with a minimal sponsorship commitment from the city but only invoices. It’s a lot of time and sales. So, yeah, we moved it to an awesome location. It’s worth every penny. Sure, this year won’t be perfect, but it’s our first at this location. So I ask the ivory tower TD commenters that are hating on it, what are YOU doing to make our city better?!?! I’ve been doing my part for two decades….

Props for answering some of the questions posted here (I thought my points were valid, but if you thought I was being a negative nancy - that's fair - I said from the beginning I hope it goes well) and props for giving the other folk free tickets

Not a hater. I think it’s a fantastic lineup, great location, etc. I just think you may have priced out a lot of your target market in BR, but BR’s live music attending market is incredibly weird and inconsistent. I am often baffled by which shows sell out verses which ones are sparsely attended. I hope I am wrong, and that this festival is a big success so y’all can continue to do more events like this. I just can’t afford to go, so I hope y’all rock in my stead

Wow - no JW added to the list after a nice breakdown of why your ticket price point is fine ? You either don’t know who I am or you are aware I won’t there anyway

Very solid gesture. Good on you Smitty for sticking your neck out to make things happen in BR. Best of luck this weekend- the weather should be good.**

**Not kissing a$$ for free tickets as I will not be in Baton Rouge. Otherwise I would be kissing a$$.
