When I was like 10 I used to play with my grandpa's acoustic guitar and wasn't good but I guess I have some knowledge in playing guitar.

In that case I reiterate my advice - get a 6-string and learn to play that first, even if your ultimate goal is to be a bassist. It will make you more well-rounded as a musician and will still help you towards your goal.
