I just played 1.
What a fantastic little guitar for the price. It's brand new out of the box, but sounds decent and really good setup. Very surprised with it.
It says "steel reinforced neck on the headstock", I always thought that means " no truss rod", but it has a dual action truss rod.

My friend got 1 to make a rubber bridge guitar with.
I think I'm gonna order one and put a pickup on it.

I’ve never played one of those but Parlor guitars are awesome. I fixed up a 1965 Fender F-71. I think they were made by Harmony. A Sears catalog sort of deal. I radiused the fretboard (no radius originally) and bridge (floating bridge) and refretted. It’s fun as hell.

Recently I got a Gibson L-00 Studio and it’s great too. I do a lot of fingerpicking and the smaller guitars are a lot better for me. I barely touch my dreadnaught anymore.

Same here.
You need a big boomy guitar for some things though.
I'm probably going to order an Epiphone J200 soon, or one of the Takamine Jumbos I'm kind of leaning towards the Takamine right now, because their electronics are so good.

Love my Jim Damdy. It’s my “sofa guitar” as that’s where it lives. They have them with pickups. They used to be called the Gin Rickey but now they call them the Jim Dandy Deltoluxe.

I've seen those too, But I will probably do some cutting and install a splitable mini-humbucker, put a copper plate over the bridge that the strings will run through and ground that, so the strings will ground well.
Use a control plate from a 51 P bass with push/pull tone knob for the split. Gretsch knobs with the arrows on them.
That lowest end model doesn't have string pegs, and that simplifies things. The strings feed through the back of the bridge.

Going to go for the Inspired by Gibson that came out a few years ago or the new 1957 Inspired by Gibson?

It would have to be the regular model, that '57 is just more than I can spend.
I'm really leaning towards the Takamine though

I did, just 2 weeks ago.
Both were brand new guitars so both will get better.
I thought the 57 sounded slightly better and it damn sure had prettier wood.
I mean beautiful.

So why are you doing this?

It has a wooden bridge. I'm pretty much going to be turning into an electric guitar. The strings need to contact metal and that needs to be grounded back with everything else, or you get all kinds of problems.
They have soundhole pickups that will work, but I think this will be more fun, and I already have all the parts to do it, except for the P Bass control plate.
The bridges that have the string pegs would be more complicated.
The strings are still going to go through the same holes in the bridge, but they will go through the copper first. I will drill holes in the plate that align with the string holes in the bridge.
