Happy Bobby Goldsboro Day 2023!

Astute observers of this forum (probably only me) may be aware of my semi-regular annual celebration of the Last Day of June as Bobby Goldsboro Day. Previous observances can be found here and here.
And of course, the video of the tune commemorating Bobby’s deflowering can be found here.
In recent years, ancient Bobby Goldsboro theorists (again, only me) have revisited the idea that the monumental event of Bobby’s rite of passage took place not in 1964, which was ten years prior to the release of the record, but in 1958, when Bobby was actually 17 - which means that the shameless, wanton harlot who “took the boy in (Bobby) away” would be 96 years young today.
Memento mori, bitchez.

That dude was a genius. He demonstrated how producing aimed towards women, could really drive the market. Where is that guy from?

My fave Bobby G video is from the Smothers Bros show, where they see the tree how big it's grown, then stomp it into little pieces

Real trivia here -
Goldsboro opened a bar in The Mall in Huntsville around 1967-68 - it was called the Gold Rush and was in the north end near JC Penney's - my dad and another guy bought him out and ran it as a side business for a couple of years - I met Bobby a few times when they were negotiating the sale - slick dresser and never a hair out of place - I would sit on a bench outside the bar and watch couples enter The Mall and the man would go in the bar and the woman would go shopping - an hour or so later the woman would come back with packages and go in the bar just long enough to retrieve the man - best people watching ever.
