Come On Eileen always reminds me of the many nights spent at the Gold Mine in New Orleans

Funny, I don't remember my nights at Gold Mine Saloon.

There's something strange going on tonight
There's something going on that's not quite right
Micheal's nervous and the lights are bright
There's something going on that's not quite right

I’m not this old but LA Woman by The Doors. My group of friends really got into them about the time the Val Kilmer movie came out.
Every song was awesome but dark. Except LA Woman. It was upbeat in the music at least and was just a great rock song. We found it at 19 years old when the song was over 20 years old.
Violent Femmes was another. Much older than me. But it was my first real intro into college or indie or whatever you’d call it. I just remember listening to it and going to College in BEAUMONT Texas. Thinking “ok I am in college now. This is what people who don’t listen to country and go to college listen to.” Whether I was accurate or not, it is how I felt.

Do these lyrics remind you of a time in your life?

Nope, just a song from Document my daughter likes.
I do remember going over to a girl's house one time and that End of the World video came on and she thought that kid was cute.
I have too many songs in my life that remind me of a certain time, place, or person.

It’s the End of the World always reminds me of the movie Independence Day.
Fables of the Reconstruction and Life’s Rich Pageant are my favorite REM albums.

Can you name a song from a particular moment in your life and when you hear it brings you back
I kept singing “It’s the End of the World As We Know It…” as we were driving to Natchez to evacuate for hurricane Katrina. Still think about that every time I hear the song.

These are meaningful right now...
quote:
Oh, I miss the kiss of treachery
The aching kiss before I feed
The stench of a love for a younger meat
And the sound that it makes when it cuts in deep
The holding up on bended knees
The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go my party piece
That band has been poignant for me since 1984 till now.

Love Document, but Reckoning is their best. Any album with Annalise has to be in the running for the best.
