love it, did not know who sang it.

It's funny though listening to some of these songs again, I see how they dissappeared pretty quickly

I never said that I like all these songs, these were songs I remember on the radio.
I just went by the title of the thread "Lost hits of the 80's"
not, "Name all the obscure UK 80's music I like that should have been hits in the US"

Don't take my comments to heart, I actually am huge fan of a lot of the groups you've listed (more so than most of the songs I've linked)and I was just bustin' your chops earlier.

'Three cheers to the blue skinned beast!

I was actually really into groups like Madness, Dexys Midnight Runners, The Jam, The Specials and all that ska flavored music of UK (I was also listening to very early Queen). I discovered alot of it in the late 80's and early 90's, this is when Guns n Roses were at their peak I believe. Needless to say, growing up in Louisiana, there weren't a ton of people listening to that stuff which made my discussion of these bands a one sided conversation. (thanks to the internet and TD I can discuss good music with like minded folks)
My ex-wife and I actually flew to London to see Dexys in 2003 (I'm re-married)
Lately I've been listening to more Roxy Music, a group I feel the US music industry ignored, which is a crime to say the least

eh, I get it, just never got in to either.

I must admit, you've got very, very good taste in music.

No, I don't like Gun's n Roses, I was just using them as a refrence point in what was the flavor of the day when i was knee deep in early 80's UK music.

Do me a favor,
Just spend a little time and listen to Dexys first album. Searching for the Young Soul Rebels.
It's nothing like 'Come On Eileen'
I think you'd enjoy it

A good friend tells me the same damned thing, all the fricking time. I'm simply pig-headed and stubborn (but, hey, at least I admit it!).

The second song is Cum On Feel the Noize. It was originally written and performed by the British glam rock band Slade in 1973.
