Thats funny... It doesnt bother me as much...

but I sometimes wonder if that Richard Blade guy knows its not the 80s anymore. Like he is some sort of Ground Hog Day, but for a decade...

I've heard/seen it, but it's nothing like the Pet Shop Boys/Erasure/Depeche/bronski barrage

Maybe someone still plays this but it's been a while since I've heard it on the radio:

This was a good pop song from the late 80s that I never hear anymore...

I was thinking about posting this,(good one) but then I thought about it and I've heard it quite often over the years in the form of Musak/elevator music in the grocery store

The second song is Cum On Feel the Noize. It was originally written and performed by the British glam rock band Slade in 1973.

Speaking of Slade and "lost" 80s hits:

Loved it.

Speaking of, This was the first version of Mama We're All Crazy Now I ever heard. Heard it well before Quiet Riot's cover. Or, saw it actually.

"Talking Heads"

Another great "lost" 80s hit by them. Slightly creepy lyrics but a great song nonetheless:

Talking Heads - Stay Up Late

See him drink. From a bottle.
See him eat. From a plate.
Cute. Cute. As a button.
Don't you wanna make him. Stay up late.
And we're having fun. With no money.
Little smile. On his face.
Don't cha' love. The little baby.
Don't you want to make him. Stay up late.

I don't ever remember this being a hit (so I know it doesn't quite fit the criteria of the thread), but I'll throw it out anyway:

Suzanne Vega - Small Blue Thing

While not nearly as cool as the Tom's Diner DNA remix (which is definitely not lost and the remix wasn't in the 80s... maybe the original Tom's Diner should be mentioned as a lost hit, too), I think this may be one of her best songs.

That particular song is OK but I'm not sure if it ever charted. "Left of Center" is probably the Suzanne Vega song that most likely qualifies as a lost hit.

you're likely right, hence my disclaimer; I just wanted to throw it in anyway as I think it's a good listen.

On the edgier side, I know Al Jourgensen is still out there doing his thing, but I really never hear anything from Ministry anymore, so:

Halloween

Stigmata

Halloween was at least a club hit, if not outright hit. Stigmata was well known if not technically a hit.

Ministry ended a few years ago but Al came back for one more album and a few shows because he needs the money. They're dead and gone now.

I remember his name popping up a year or two ago talking about an album and/or tour, but I didn't catch the other details. What you say makes sense.

I went to their farewell tour in 2008. It was awesome. Al has a ton of health problems and never liked touring so he ended the band. He still does production and studio work for other bands.
