Still Loving You by the Scorpions. Lyrics count as a ballad but it's still heavy and has some great guitar work
Have you heard the version they did on "Comeblack"? It's from 2011. They basically re-recorded with modern production a lot of their classics. It's absolutely stunning on good speakers. Blows your arse away.

Iron Maiden-Wasted Years
This isn't a ballad - it's a full out metal tune.

Iron Maiden basically only has ONE ballad: Wasting Love. It's fricking awesome.

I think what always made me like it was that it, along with Home Sweet Home, featured the piano, which was such an outlier in hair band music.
Really? Off the top of my head: Kick - Don't Close Your Eyes, Guns - November Rain et al;

Cinderella actually had two good power ballads on Long Cold Winter. Coming Home was another good song, and was unique in hair band music for the use of the 12 string acoustic.
And the title track off of Heartbreak Station is good too (and has piano)

(I Just) Died In Your Arms - Cutting Crew
Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money
Good tunes..but those are NOT 80s hair bands.

Here's a few that are a tiny bit off the beaten path:

Poison - Life Goes On (one of the longest solos ever)
Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death
White Lion - Cry for Freedom
Metallica - Mama Said
Megadeth - A Tout le Monde
Testament - The Ballad; The Legacy
Winger - Miles Away
Motley Crue - Without You
Europe - Prisoners in Paradise (this is arguably my favorite)
Kix - Don't Close Your Eyes
Skid Row - as mentioned, Quicksand Jesus and In a Darkened Room are somewhat obscure gems; I still think 18 and Life should be included, as it is the greatest hair metal song of all time
Scorpions - Believe in Love; Always Somewhere
Def Leppard - Hysteria (I know not obscure, but it truly is great)
Bon Jovi - Living in Sin
Warrant - Sometimes She Cries; I Saw Red (this is my #2 of the entire genre)
Faster Pussycat - House of Pain
Joe Satriani - I Believe
Twisted Sister - The Price (re-recorded a la Comeblack on 2005's Still Hungry - production is great)
Bruce Dickinson - Son of a Gun; All the Young Dudes
Stryper - Honestly

I don’t know anything about Cutting Crew other than that’s their song. Eddie had hair early on (not glam) but during his comeback in the 80s he went business casual. I think Take Me Home Tonight is a stretch to be a power ballad but it makes all of the lists. Just a great song.

I’m listening to Pride right now for the first time in over 30 years and it’s like opening a vault. I learned guitar learning how to play these songs. Pretty sure I had this tab book. Vito Bratta was a major inspiration when I first started playing.

There's some real cheeseball stuff in this thread, so why not one more...

There's nothing cheeseball about this song. Early Def Leppard put out some great stuff.

I basically had the same thought when I saw Wasted Years listed with ballads. Nothing ballad about it…great fricking song though.
