Hate like hell to hear this. What an amazing talent he was. Many good times attending Mavericks concerts throughout the last 30 years. He will be missed. RIP

What a loss - the man had a generational voice. My wife and I saw them 7 times over the last few years. Every show was amazing. An eclectic mix of Cuban/latin, blues, rockabilly, country, etc. Saw them in Baton Rouge and San Antonio in 2025 - so glad we did. For those who never saw him live, check out some videos. So sad to lose him so young, would have likely seen him another 7 times. Really sad about this one.
Five for us. Biloxi, Tuscaloosa (open for Dwight), south of Nashville (again, opening for dwight), the Lyric in Bham and finally the Ryman in 24.
This was after a long time of not thinking about them since the 90s. They got back on my radar and I discovered "In Time" and other stuff they did since getting back together. And I think Moon and Stars is an excellent final album as well.
They were in my spotify top 5 end of year review. They were very hard to "categorize." But if you went to one of their concerts and didn't have a good time, then I don't know what to do with you. Fantastic lead, fantastic band, and great songs. Going to miss them.
