For some reason this bothers me more than any others I can think of.

She just seems like one of the good ones. Pretty, talented, rather quite. I can't recall a single report/rumor/story saying anything negative about her.

She was rather homely, but liked to party and bang anyone with a tally whacker.

Wait, that's actually a good thing, isn't it?

I had the same reaction. I was a fan, but not a HUGE fan per se. Might be the warmth in the way she sang, or just the contrast to the public drama of other FM members. (She seems to have had her own drama but for whatever reason it wasn't nearly as public.)

Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands of all time. I coincidentally listened to "Don't Stop" when I was getting dressed for work the morning of 11/30. A couple of hours later, I discover that one of the vocalists in that song died. It was eerie.

Christine McVie (neé Perfect) had such an underrated contribution to Fleetwood's catalog--from providing the perfect (no pun intended) harmony for vocals to her virtuoso-like keyboard skill, to the deep, heartfelt lyrics she authored--her legacy is unrivaled.

RIP to a true legend.

I’ll listen to “Songbird” and “You Make Loving Fun” today. 1 year went by quickly.

Same...and will add "Sugar Daddy" which (to me at least) is an underappreciated gem

On November 8, 1975, Christine McVie’s soulful masterpiece, Over My Head, made its debut on Billboard’s Top 100 at No. 91, marking the start of Fleetwood Mac’s rise to U.S. chart success. This first single from their iconic white album would climb to an impressive No. 20 by January 1976, becoming the band’s first-ever U.S. Top 20 hit. With McVie’s tender lyrics and warm vocals, Over My Head signaled the beginning of an era—one that would change rock history forever.

|Got to see them perform that live, when they toured in support of that lp, at the somewhat oxymoronically named St Bernard Cultural Center.

I love this one because of the way she phrases the song. It’s perfect like Willie Nelson would do it. She stays right behind the beat.
