With apologies to Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard, ZZ Top without Dusty Hill will never be the same. But I'd imagine Billy & Frank would tell anyone that themselves...

Steve Lukather is an amazing musician but after the Porcaro brothers died, TOTO was not the same. They still perform but I think that age caught up to them. If you haven't heard Paich sing lately take a listen.

Also Skid Row was never the same after they got rid of Sebastian Bach. Dumb arse career move on their part.

Ugh are you really trying to say that Philipino dude has a voice like Steve Perry's? You better check your ears for cotton balls your momma stuck in there when you were 6 months old. a truck load of crap. More like a paying 100's of dollars to sit at the Cat's Meow and listen to karaoke

Not at all. Perry is my GOAT. I'm saying for a fun night, Journey can still imitate very well. Hell, I've seen them with overhauled Styx and many other openers. It's still amazing for us old heads.

Off the top of my head, AC/DC is the only band that replaced a key member and came out ahead.

There's a Mr. John Rutsey on line one for you.

Thought the Eagles was still a great show with Gill doing Frey songs.

Have seen Chicago and it’s a fun show knowing a couple of legends are missing. They can still sell out an amphitheater so more power to em.

Journey was great and would see again. If Perry ever rejoined it would be massive, if he can still sing.

Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey is a no go for me though.

I saw "Marshall Tucker Band" open for Alabama. Now there is no Marshall Tucker, never was, but anyways only the lead singer from the original lineup is left. And he bragged before each song how many commercials and movies and YouTube views it had. It was cringe and fricking awful.

Alabama brought the house down though

They came up with Chicago 16 & 17 which were pretty good IMO. Then Cetera left and the band became cheesy as hell.

I love Kath and think he is severely underrated. Even he was going downhill and wasn't the presence he used to be starting in '76 and '77. Probably has more to do with the material at the time but pure Kath on video is Chicago at Tanglewood '70. The complete Carnegie Hall set of eight concerts gives a great example of how Kath directed that band. I think it was inevitable Kath would have left or done his own thing as he was sick of the horns and wanted to do the three/four piece band. Cetera even wrote stuff on Chicago VIII that showcased a basic band.

With that said, Chicago 17 is a fantastic album. If you consider the times, the songs fit the mold and the production itself stands the test of time. Foster is definitely struck on himself but that album is a home run. Cetera was tired of the touring and wanted to do his own thing for one year before rejoining. The rest decided to carry on without him. If you see their track record, they've toured every single year since. Cetera tired of that and very rarely toured solo.

The little Asian dude does a hell of a Steve Perry

The gay dude from American Idol does a great job with Queen

I think the better replacement for both of these vocalists is the same guy. Jeff Scott Soto. I like Arnel in Journey a little bit but can't stand Lambert in Queen.

Listen to some deep cuts of the Eagles. “One of these nights is a true jam. Witchy Woman is haunting. Victim of love is a great tune as is Those Shoes….

How are One of These Nights and Witchy Woman deep cuts? One of These Nights was the second #1 single of their career and Witchy Woman was their first top ten hit(peaked at #9).
