Was blasting the piss out of that album while cutting the grass this week. That and purple. Great albums. STP was such a great band. Old stuff and newer stuff. A shame Scott couldn't get right.

Listened to Kitchenware & Candy bars on my way to town tonight.
Apparently was about an abortion Wieland and his girlfriend were considering at the time.

YouTube recently and found that they played both Core and Purple start to finish in a studio in 2020 with the new singer.
Thanks for that, watching now. It's amazing at 2:35 Jeff sounds identical to Scott.

Never got the PJ comparisons.
Laziest shite ever. I called it out at the time, and no one ever disagreed with me.

Thanks to this thread I found a song on that album I had never heard before….”Where The River Goes”. Awesome song!!!

Yup, that was a great closer for Core.
They're one of the few bands I got to see live and intact from that era. Saw them at Bayfest in Mobile, maybe in like 2009 or so. Opened with Dead and Bloated.

Great show. If I remember right didn't he strip naked & then run off the stage? This is right after he got out of jail to tour for the 4 album & was actually sober.

I'm obsessed with STP. Just bought the 25th Anniversary edition of Core. (3-4 CD's, a DVD and vinyl.) I'll never stop playing it. Saw them in 1997 at UNO Lakefront Arena but wished I'd seen VooDoo Fest 2000.

R.I.P., Scott, you magnificent megaphone mastering bastard
Blew the top off of State Palace Theater with that opener.

I remember being tired and wanting to leave since this was the last show and it was very hot that day. After the first song, I knew I made the right decision to stay. Weiland was on fire!

STP never made a bad album. Even the EP with whstshisface. Also, unlike some other bands of the same era, they never made the same album twice.
Hell, I even have the Talk Show album, which is basically Tiny Music-era STP with a different singer.

The demo version of it is even better. You can find it out there on the web (do a search for “STP Mighty Joe Young sessions”. There are also early versions of Wicked Garden and Naked Sunday. A song called Only Dying is fantastic, and but stayed buried until the Core re-issue.

Plush might be the greatest song written in the 90's
We had a roommate in college that was obsessed with that song. He’d sit in his room doing blow and listen to that song on repeat for hours. We eventually thought to hide the CD. He bought another copy and went right back at it. He moved out abruptly at 4 in the morning 1 night owing us what at time was a ton of $. That’s my Plush memory.

The best show I ever saw was in Vegas at the Joint maybe 2004 or 2005. Blown away. So loud and he was otherworldly

On my birthday deathbed

Happy heavenly birthday to the great frontman, Scott Weiland, born on this day, October 27, 1967. RIP.

Hope the guy is finally at peace. Addiction has robbed us of many wonderful talents over the years. It's sad, he had a killer voice.
