son here's the truth, and know it's going to be hard for you to hear, but Smells Like Teen Spirit was always a shite song, and Miley Cyrus really made it realize its shittiness
The most correct entry in this thread.

Bar songs when performed that instantly give the thumbs up to revolt by the use of extreme violence, or to vacate the joint immediately include-
Mustang Sally
Sweet Home Alabama
Bad to the Bone
All Summer Long
Livin' on a Prayer
Sweet Caroline
Apple Bottom Jeans
That stupid arse Oklahoma joint song
Anything by White Stripes
Anything by Darius Rucker
Anything by Flo Rida
Anything by Afroman
Anything by Toby Keith
And so many more

Yeah, this is going to get down voted but to quote Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive, I don't care.
When a Man Loves a Woman-Percy Sledge/Michael Bolton
Baby I Love Your Way-Peter Frampton/Will to Power
Cat's in the Cradle-Harry Chapin/Ugly Kid Joe (or whoever it was in the mid 90s that redid it)
I Will Always Love You-Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston
Other than White Zombie's version of I'm Your Boogie Man just about any disco song that anyone else has ever covered. (I'm probably missing one or two exceptions that are escaping my mind but I am sure someone later on in this thread will remind me of them.)

I can't believe I forgot my all time #1 song for this list. Red Red Wine-Neil Diamond/UB 40. Particularly the UB 40 version. I once lived in an apartment complex where my neighbors went out and bought a new stereo system and celebrated by playing that song on repeat for thirteen straight hours. I hate that song more than I hate communism.

Me too. Same goes for Kokomo and Don't Worry, Be Happy. All 3 of them seemed to play on a loop when I was living in Pensacola in 88.

Patience by GNR is an elite 90s rock tune, but the recently released cover of it by Chris Cornell is surprisingly bad.
ETA: yes I know the original isn’t terrible per the thread title, but the new version blows.

I don't know who did the original, but "Last Kiss", covered by Pearl Jam was god awful. Complete shite. Why they covered that thing, I'll never know.
