IDK. You may be right and my memory misfiring, but I think we were referring to them as CCR pre-internet era. "CCR" had a nice cadence to it so it was easy to pronounce.

That is what it has stood for as long as I’ve known them and what everyone else thought as well. I’ll never be convinced otherwise even if Stipe told me himself
