That lineup is arse-cheeks. Good thing Voodoo sells single day tickets. LSU-Auburn play on that Saturday in BR anyways. Hopefully that’s where they place Post.
wouldn't Post's biggest draw be LSU students tho?

Wow, that is very underwhelming. Guns N Roses and Beck would be fun, and The National I guess...but jeez, they didn't even score many relevant 2nd tier artists.

It's not just Voodoo though. Go look at every major festival that isn't run by Danny Wimmer and co. We're just old and not in that prime demo they're shooting for anymore. Rock is struggling hard.

I think voodoo needs to stick to its rock roots, Buku should expand to a 3 day festival and pull the EDM and SoundCloud rapper artists.
It would've helped if you'd have told them this 10 years ago.

Well. That is not at all the lineup I wanted.
Maybe I'll go Bishop Briggs day.

Yeah I get that. Last Voodoo Fest I went to was 2017 mainly to see LCD, Foo Fighters, and Brand New...I felt so out of place.
It’s weird too bc I enjoy some EDM, mainly deep house and dance, and I also like hip hop/rap...just don’t enjoy watching it live. Feel like I need to be on drugs to get anything from it. All the college kids running around half naked or in Tune Squad jerseys prove the demographic shift...is what it is.

Yeah, this lineup is a far cry from QOTSA -> APC - White Stripes on the Sunday main stage in 2003.
That's the first year I ever went. Seeing those bands back to back to back was incredible. I only went that day, as the day before that was pretty crap Nu-Metal and Marylin Manson. There was also a home LSU game.
'04 Saturday was also great. Among other bands, the final three to play on the main stage were Pixies, Green Day, then Beastie Boys.
I bought early bird for '05 then Katrina happened and they closed the fest off to just those that already had tickets and the emergency services workers. The lineup was pretty good originally but they cut it to 1 day and some bands played in Memphis. It was still a fun time and seeing QOTSA and NIN back to back was awesome.
Such a shame that you go from lineups like that to this.

After going to Chicago Open Air with Tool, System, Ghost and Gojira...This is a supreme let down. Really wanted the black keys

Haha... I forgot about that. You know, I wasn't familiar with them at the time and I think I missed their show to see Talib Kwali on the other side. I regret it now because I like Sonic Youth.

I had to look up Brandi Carlisle on Apple Music, listened to a couple songs...wtf is she doing in this line up?

2000 Voodoo was the GOAT: Emimem, 311, STP back to back to back on the same stage. Not to mention Blues Traveler, Live,Counting Crows, Ben Harper and Cowboy Mouth. Feel sorry for the kids these days. frick that line up.

Agree on rap. I listen to a ton of rap, but I don't like it live. I like seeing EDM live at like a nightclub in a decent city, but that isn't the EDM they book at these festivals.

I’ll go for the National and Interpol. Like those two bands better than anybody that played at Jazz Fest
Posted on 6/4/19 at 10:58 am to LouisianaLady
this used to be alt rock festival
what is all this EDM doing on here?

You absolutely can't touch 2003. That year was insane.

I did see Manson that year. I prefer 2000. Probably had to do with how much "fun" we were having. It was only one day back then as well.
