quote:This is my experience too. I almost exclusively use YTM, and don't understand the complaints. I actually find Spotify difficult to work with whenever I have to.
This was absolutely true for a while and there's multiple threads here with a lot of us bitching about it. OTOH, it has improved over the last year to the point where it's back to Google Play Music quality for me. I absolutely love it now.
Another cool thing about YTM is you can find super obscure stuff on youtube itself and then add those to playlists on YTM. e.g. if you find a well-curated mix that's 2 hours long, you can just add that as a "song" on YTM.

Spotify, it has all I need and I've had it for so long that I don't really want to learn anything else.

Apple Music, but not with a subscription. I have so many GBs of music I just create my own playlists every few years.
However, I've paid for Pandora for years. The "Vietnam Radio" station is gold.

I've used Tidal for several years. I use it as a primary source for home, auto and phone as I have apps in all 3 locations for it. I ripped all my CDs to lossless on a server like 15 years ago (AAC for the phone though) but unless a record I have just isn't on Tidal, I play it there b/c it gives a small bump to the artist.
I've tried Spotify and Apple Music, and both are very good in some ways but have key misses for me that made me stick with Tidal. For home listening, Spotify's refusal to provide a lossless tier despite promising it years ago is a problem for me.

Definitely Tidal for me.

YouTube Music. We watch a lot of YouTube, so it works out with YouTube premium. No ads and you get YouTube music with it.

I mostly listen to live performances rather than albums so YouTube is great for that.

Used to use Spotify, switched to Apple Music. If you have an iPhone the integration is really nice

I may be ancient, but I still use Pandora. I remember discovering it from a classmate in ~2007. I cultivated several stations of artists and genres with the like/dislike function. It's been hard to change to anything else. I'm sure there are better options out there, I just haven't even tried.

Not sure if this will change anyone's mind, but the average number of streams(30 seconds or more of a song) that an artist will need to get $1,000 from the streaming service.
LINK
Tidal - 76,924
Apple Music - 100,000
Youtube music - 125,000
Deezer(never heard of it) - 156,250
Amazon - 250,000
Spotify - 303,030
Pandora - 769,231
I've been tempted for a while to move to Apple or Tidal due to their better payment than Spotify, but it's hard to move away from something you know that works well.
