When talking vocalist Im assuming we're only considering voice quality and not singing talent or voice control, stage presence, etc. If just considering hard rock or metal, I really like Sully Erna's voice (Godsmack). I also like Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch) and Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) alot. M.Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) is a fantastic vocalist. They just have great hard rock voices, very aggressive, masculine and powerful. I also think David Bowie has a great voice, as well as Bob Seger. Ronnie Van Zant gets a shout out too. Joe Cocker and Tommy Shaw as well.
shite: I forgot Richie Kotzen. One of my favorite voices ever.

As far traditional vocalist, it would be Nat King Cole and then Sinatra. Other styles: Tom Jones, Mercury, Paul Rodgers

Hard to pick just one...
Lennox and Bowie for pure vocals
Tyler and Plant for rock edgie vocals
Henley and Fogelberg for soft rock (Browne is a favorite too)
Wilson and Nicks for female rockers
Others
Leon Russell
Rod Stewart
Jack White
Not a fan of the Mayer or Matthews and that weird voice stuff they do.

Steve Perry has a great voice, but is pretty high-pitched. Robert Plant has a pretty horrible voice, and I LOVE the mighty Zep. This is about vocalist, i.e. quality of voice and how they use it. It's not about best frontman or best singer, although clearly alot of people in this thread cant differentiate. Bon Scott? lol.

Sinatra, Sinatra, Sinatra. This year is the 100th anniversary of being … well, Frank Sinatra.
