You're that guy, huh?
What guy? I didnt say I dont think that Plant is one of the greatest singers or frontman ever. He's a legend and Zep wouldnt have been the same without him. He's a great frontman and singer. He's not a great vocalist or even a good vocalist.

Otis Redding
Agree. And if I could pick one musician that died too young to be spared that fate, it would be him. He may have fizzled out, but I'd sure like to know what he would have done past age 25.

Robert Plant has a pretty horrible voice, and I LOVE the mighty Zep. This is about vocalist, i.e. quality of voice and how they use it. It's not about best frontman or best singer, although clearly alot of people in this thread cant differentiate. Bon Scott? lol.

Female: Annie Lennox, hands down. I swear I could listen to her sing the phone book.
Male: surprised no one has said Art Garfunkle. Listen to bridge over troubled water.

I need to break it into classes. Rhythm and Blues - Sam Cooke and Al Green to my list. Rock and Roll - Ian Gillan is my favorite.

Ryan Adams. No shite, it's one of my favorite things about the guy. He uses his voice like an instrument and all the different ways he finds to use it never ceases to amaze me.
