obligatory. I was sure it was from the 90´s, but couldn´t pull it up on a list, to make sure. I´ve got a lot I´d bump, in favor of this record. This is a beautiful sounding record.

I just focused on "alt rock" for my list, this could have been a best list of 1995

Here are 18 in no particular order (couldnt leave any off) off the top of my head and with only one record per band... I'm sure I could redo this list from top to bottom, giving it some thought...

Grifters - Crappin' You Negative
Spoon - A Series of Sneaks
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Built to Spill- There is nothing Wrong With Love
Superchunk - No Pocky For Kitty
Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted
Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes
Sugar - Copper Blue
Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville
Nirvana - Nevermind
Wheat - Hope and Adams
Slint - Spiderland
Uncle Tupelo - No Depression
Whiskeytown - Stranger's Almanac
Rocket From The Crypt - Circa: Now!
Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out

**Oasis - Definitely Maybe, could possibly push the list to 19

these are just some albums i love. alternative rock, what does it even mean?! anyway

beck — odelay
elliott smith — either/or
radiohead — the bends, OK computer
soundgarden — superunknown
yo la tengo — i can hear the heart beating as one
sonic youth — dirty
pearl jam — no code, vitalogy, vs
ween — chocolate and cheese
flaming lips — clouds taste metallic, the soft bulletin
sebadoh — bakesale
dinosaur jr. — green mind
oasis — what's the story morning glory, be here now
ratm — evil empire

there are so many great albums from this decade, so many get overlooked. someone should just start a thread about favorite discs of the '90s and it would go on forever haha

Yes, I wasnt going to post in this thread because alternative rock, by my definition, is a genre I abhor... However, I assumed the OP meant a more general meaning... music that wasnt "mainstream pop"

This is another one, like Ok Computer, that is far above anything one could label. That might be my favorite album from the 90s.
