This.
Joel is the greatest Pelican of all time.

There is a difference between stating an obvivious fact that our offense is not working and saying today is just not our day, for the past 2-3 years under Gentry
Just now seeing your edit. All joking aside, this just is not true. He does not say its not our day/night on a regular basis. This is like the guy complaining about Troy Aikman's commentating because he claims Aikman talks about concussions every game. Aikman is one of the best analyst in football and i've heard him talk about concussions during a broadcast, and if there's anyone you would want to talk about it, it would be him. Same for Joel, if you dont like the guy, thats fine, just at least dont hate for made up reasons you want to tell yourself.
He's positive and you want him to be critical. Thats pretty much it. He doesnt even make excuses for the team, much less constantly saying it wasnt our day. That doesnt make him a bad analyst.

Persoanlly I love the pelicans and deal with Joel's over postive attitude when we down 30
Just think Joel needs to realize he is not convining anyone. In our small basketball market, if you are listening to Joel on TV you already know our faults. We do not have casual fans who accidently puts on the pelicans game

Wish I had a recording of him saying it. There has been atleast 3 times I know off, last year included, where he would claim " Our shots just arent falling" or " Tonight is not not our night"
We have 3 at best shooters and we are running a 7 second offense that relies on shooters. How hard is it to make a comment that our offensive philosphy does not fit our roster.
Wesley, in his awkard way, would make great points that indireclty showed we did not have the right offense or defense on the court. Daniels sort of does the same thing, just not as akward as Wesley.
I will admit Joel is the right person for this job, as in, the overly postive guy that commentates a team that seems to never take the next step becuase of coaching. I am more impress that Joel can stay positive when he had to cover Monty and Gentry games

Joel often is critical of the team’s play, especially when there’s a lack of effort or silly mistakes keep happening. Joel is even handed and a pleasure to listen to. Top shelf natural announcer voice.

I like Daniels. When you compare him to David Wesley, yeah he is a downgrade, but at the end of the day, he loves this city and this team and you can tell. He meshes with Joel just like Wesley did so im happy.
I do wish we could bring back Bob and Gil for just one more game though. Thats all, just one game.
Edit: time goes by fast... Joel and Wesley went 7 years strong. Joel is on year 8 with us.
