Does it count against griff as a 3rd coach hire

If he simply just send Willie Green home and let his contract expire while James Borrego take over? Willie Green seems to not be able to grasp the fact that this isn’t year 2001 where defense is more valued than offense.

I don’t think ownership will care if they’re not on the hook for the coach’s money. Which explains why Green got no extension. I think Griff will be looking to upgrade this offseason and hes right to do so.

Just upgrade now, Willie Green is holding this team back
Let Borrego run the team the rest of the year on his current contract (maybe a bonus pay). If he gets them to 45+ wins and it looks good then you have your next guy. If it doesn’t work out then wash your hands and move on

Griff getting his 4th coaching decision in 6 years being here would be unheard of. Would make Gayle look really bad and not a serious owner.

Pelicans and Saints are almost assuredly going to be sold as a package deal when Gayle passes, and neither team will be moved.
In the succession plan its pretty explicitly written out that a focus on finding new ownership would be to keep the team in the city

Just curious has Gayle Benson ever had a press conference or been interviewed in regards to the position of both her sports teams after the season ends? I’ve never heard ever comment on how either of her teams are doing. She’s probably the most nonengaged owner in both the NFL and NBA.
