I also think a part of Graham and BI not really cooking is that we started a couple of 3rd string dudes with them so we could keep the bench together. I'll reserve my melt for if they look bad playing with Zion and Jonas.

Sato has a role on this team as an actual point guard.

Hasnt Graham had one of the better Asst/TO in the league the last 2 seasons?

That's good, but the more important test will be the MRI in a day or two. Ligaments have to be the concern.

Yeah, it's not really good if the MRI shows a grade 3 sprain. That'll be a longer recovery than if he just broke it.

I really want to see how Willie adjusts over the next few games. Is he making guys like Trey and NaW “earn it” so he can insert them as starters and they feel like they accomplished something and the vets are appeased? Is he flexible or is he stubborn like SVG?

Is he just playing with lineups for now and experimenting?

I'd like to see Graham play more aggressive. His ability to shoot when the ball is in his hand is what makes him dangerous. If he's going to play as a traditional point, I don't think it'll work.l with his limitations as a finisher at the basket.

If you lock in Devonte', BI, Zion, and Jonas, you probably don't want to put NAW in the starting lineup because there's no real gritty defensive guy. I think NAW is probably a 6th man who will still play a lot of minutes, they'll just be a bit more staggered.

I think in a perfect world, Trey Murphy's defense is good enough for him to start at the 3 but for now, it's probably Naji.

Then I wouldn’t start Devonte. That’s easy.

Starting Naji would be truly depressing

I think you're stressing too much about the starters. Nickeil is going to play a lot of minutes and he'll most likely finish games. He's just a better option off the bench to keep the offense rolling. It's just a more valuable role than playing the first 5 minutes of the game.

If tonight's lineups mean anything, its seems like thats the plan.

I just hate that defenses are going to force Zion to kick out to Naji, when Murphy's right there on your bench.

Just because Naji starts with Zion it doesn't mean he'll play most of Zion's minutes. I'm sure we'll see a lot of Z and Trey on the court at the same time.

We have no way of knowing how Willie is going to operate. He's gone out of his way to not answer questions about starters/rotations outside of the obvious Zion/BI/JV. The closest I've heard Willie come to singling out a player for a specific role is he said he feels Graham is an experienced shot maker and expects him to take shots in crunch time, suggesting he's probably penciled in to finish.

One thing about herb and trey i like is their demeanor. Neither player is immature.

Same way i like willie's demeanor.

Yea, WG mentioned that last week. He said he likes that they are college “vets” and ready to play in the nba to an extent.

There’s a place for Naji to play with this roster, but I doubt it’ll be with Zion very frequently. I’d be surprised if Trey didn’t play a ton with Zion and/or NAW, as they’re the two best guys at getting into the paint.
