I HONESTLY was not excited about this trade at first.
Then did some checking on what was gained; a solid scoring option at the 2, a starting center with some size, and a top-10 forward who may have good success.
I feel like this season could be a toss up now...
Playoffs? Not likely, but possible IMO
Worst in the league? Nowhere near.

I actually like this trade.
It's not like we dumped Paul for some scrubs and picks. We're going to have 2(potentially) lottery picks next year AND we picked up a big time scorer and a young post who shows some potential. Kaman is just icing, if he can play 35 games this year, it's a win

You all are talking like 80% of the people that drive through New Orleans and see that big hanging picture of Gordon on the arena would even know who he is.....
They will soon. Let the season unfold.

He is a nice player but he isn't the one meant to entice the buyers.
Actually, a smart owner wouldn't be enticed by purcahsing a team whose biggest asset is on his way out of the door. The Hornets are better off today than they were three days ago.

So after reading this thread im assuming this was a good deal for the Hornets?? I haven't been keeping up since the lockout.
I always thought to myself that if Paul ever left, the franchise would be gone within 3 years unless we got another big name player. Hopefully this trade works out.

This is the general consensus here and around the league.

If the team is exciting and winning three years from now, it will have its own stars.

Paul is overrated and injury prone.
Come on now tell me you said this same thing 18 months ago.....regardless of his bitchassness at the end in NOLA Paul is still a top 2 PG in the league.

When he cares to be, he is the best PG in the league, probably ever. He and Isiah Thomas stand above all the others, in my opinion. I'm considering Magic a point forward as he really played a different type of game. I don't see his effort being an issue now. He just wanted out of NOLA bad and acted like it.

This is a great deal for the Hornets. Paul wasn't ever going to be the same with the knee - at least not for a whole season. He wasn't anything like he was before the knee injury last regular season but he managed to turn it up in the playoffs. Considering I expect him to continue to either underperform his billing or have knee injuries I wouldn't have traded Gordon for him straight-up. Great move for the Hornets.

I bet the Rockets are as mad as the Lakers. They were real excited when they thought were part of the first deal.

Love CP3 forever. Clippers are now my 2nd favorite team. But Eric Gordon is now our boy..I'll order my Gordon jersey soon

I think I'd rather have Gordon, I'd rather have a pair of guards who can actually score consistently.
