Because firing the coach in back to back years is the surefire way to show CP3 we're serious about forging a contender...

He wasn't fricking the team in the playoffs. Ariza isn't a prob IMO.

They could hire Phil Jackson, re-sign Paul, trade Aaron Gray for Dwight Howard, and he'd complain about Monty's wardrobe

Thornton ain't Wade so I ain't going to put him on a pedestal like others here. I am sorry I hate the idea of having Thornton matchup with Kobe or Artest.

i have no illusions about getting a guy like wade

we've needed a scorer at the 2 for years. we finally had one, then gave him away. it's frustrating

now, we need another scorer at the 2

artest sucks

i'd rather thornton guard artest than have kobe dominate belli

i know they're not going to fire monty

but we'll never be elite with monty unless we can overhaul the lineup and build it for the type of team he wants

not if we built a team that could contend for a title

the team has basically fricked that up

in 2008 i warned y'all that the team had a limited window to make a play. the hornets have fricked that up early and often since we ended our magical run in the 2008 playoffs

our ownership overextended itself on a piece of shite player like posey, which then led to the calculated sell off as shinn went cheap. this led to the inability to use our expiring contracts to improve the team, as we sold them off piece at a time to save money in the short term. then we did the same with chandler/okafor, fricking us for the long term.

don't try to call me out because i called this shite in 2008 and it's coming to fruition now

Giving them more than 1 season would be a start

when we have a dominating post player on offense we'll be able to win with this style

short of that, we're fricked

and since character is such a big deal, we won't be able to gamble on a randolph-like player

so let me know when that guy is available for us

All that shite's true. Nobody's arguing that. The franchise was being run like a freakin sno bowl stand. They were a joke. But thats old news.

At least give Demps/Williams a shot to correct a decade of frickups before you're ready to can em.

All things considered, i thought they did a hell of job this year.

Being elite isn't a realistic goal. The plan should be Stockton/Malone. Those 2 were together for over 10 years before everything fell just right and they made 2 Finals. You build the best team you can and hope you get a healthy year with a good draw, kind of like what the Mavs are doing this season, benefiting from the Hornets setting up the Lakers for a fall in the first round and then getting lucky with the health and effectiveness of Chandler and Peja.

monty's team requires a dominating post player on offense. this is the most rare position in basketball

if you're going to play grind it out 90s style ball, you need a post player who dominates offensively to run the offense through

Give them more than 1 season Slow...

They won 46 games in the West in their first year.

Give them a healthy Paul for a season. An NBA caliber SG. West healthy. Not getting the worst possible matchup in the playoffs...

Lol, I think everyone got so used to him being so bad on the offensive end of the floor during the regular season that his postseason play was sort of over blown.

He played really good D, no doubt. But, he still shot 41% from the floor and 33% from 3 versus the Lakers. I agree, you can live with THAT type of production if you have a guy that can score along side of him, I just hope Ariza doesn't fall back to shooting under 40% from the field and under 30% from 3 like he did for most of the season.
