I wonder what all the hoopla was with bringing him over to play a few games in the G League last year? Was hoping he could be our 3rd big off the bench on a minimum salary.

Not sure, by all accounts he played pretty decent and showed great athleticism in his G-League stint, I would’ve thought we would at least give him a 2 way

I don't think there was hoopla. We were so desperate for a 3rd big that posters got excited and made assumptions, but I always thought him getting a GLeague deal and not a 2way was telling and that it was just an audition. I'm not saying he failed, but he clearly didn't pass.

I also wouldn't read too much into him being traded in Europe. He was around the team more than just the GLeague, and Larry even mentioned him after the season when talking about mentoring the young guys. If they think he just needs more seasoning I'd expect him back for Summer League. I guess we'll know more then.

Pretty sure that, once the new NBA year starts, we won't have his rights anymore. He could sign with anyone after that.
