I know Dumars and Draymond Green are close. Maybe he can talk Draymond into coming to the Pels? I know there is no shot in that happening, but it would be awesome.

I honestly don't think an expensive Draymond Green is what this team needs. He would get the majority of his minutes at the 3 here, which doesn't seem to be his most effective position.

He really does seem like a great guy, just not the guy for this team.

I agree assuming we keep pretty much the same roster. But, with (hypothetically speaking) a Ryno trade, you don't think there's minutes for him with a small ball-lineup featuring AD at the 5?

Monty Speaks
Clifs for anybody who cant watch:

Monty is thankful for the city and the fans. Mentions the support he got from Benson and his wife.

Blessed to have done what hes done here.

Mickey made a decision he thought was best for the team. Monty understands its a business. Says Mickey and co didnt give him any direct reasons for the firing, just said they wanted to go in another direction.

Wants to thank the organization for the opportunity they gave him.

Monty says hes gotten text messages from ex-coaches who have been fired, says he doesnt know how to respond to all of that.

Monty says life isnt fair, and that he doesnt expect anybody to feel sorry for him. ''I get paid well to what I do.'' Says its a part of life.

I think it was the right move. I like where we are right now, in terms of being able to attract a quality coach. We have a world-class practice facility. We have one of the best players in the world. We have a decent roster around him. It will be interesting to see who Dell has in mind. I hope it's Thibodeau.

He's a nice fellow. I'd be chilling on a year long vacation with my family while getting paid. Not a bad gig to get fired with one year left on your contract.

The minutes could possibly be there, but you end up with the same issue as AD/Ryno in terms of cap space dedicated to redundancies.

Before the Thibs fap fest begins, keep in mind that the Pelicans tried to get Mike Malone in as a Coaching Consultant after he was fired from Sac. A move that doesn't seem like it'd have been initiated by Monty

If Demps "won" the struggle with ownership, I'm not sure why we are certain Thibs/Malone are the choices. Thibs is certainly better, but Monty is cut from the same grind it out cloth.

Demps's major moves have been with an eye to the evolving, perimeter oriented NBA.

Yeah I've been thinking about this.

If Demps' vision won...I don't see how Thibs or Malone fit his "vision". I feel like an Offensive coach would fit his vision more, like a Hoiberg or Gentry.
