Looks like it wasn’t lip service when Griffin said he was look for good people number 1

ETA: obviously I don’t know these guys but those interviews were really good

NAW just seems to have that feel for the game. Obviously very skilled, but has that Spidey sense that distinguishes top players.

And he's going to be mentored by JJ/Jrue

Can't get much better than that

Naw's court vision was on full display. Actually pretty insane considering he's been with the team for all of 36 hours

That didn't look like the first time Hayes and NAW played together. I was thoroughly impressed. I do think the Trade Lonzo talk is premature, he's still just a rookie, but I feel even more comfortable trading Moore now.

I know it’s summer league, but his passes and vision are on point

Yea trying not to react to one SL game, but goddamn those baws were really on another level.

I was actually more impressed with NAW than Hayes.

Hayes had incredible energy and his athleticism was unmatched, but he was playing on easy mode with the passes that NAW and others were dishing to him.

What excites me most about Hayes is he looks like that with only 3 years of competitive basketball experience. He's not like most of these guys that have been playing basketball for 10+ years by the time they make it to SL.

This lineup

NAW
Jrue
Ingram
Zion
Hayes

Will hurt a lot of people. I predict pain. Lots of pain.

Hayes is certainly less raw than expected

There's also this

Fred Vinson says he started NAW at the 2 tonight to let him get in the flow, but once he realized how in control he was he moved him over to the 1.

As I said in the game thread, the #17 completely smothered the #7 pick defensively. It's certainly hard to know the future, but NAW looked like a much better basketball player than Coby White. The head-to-head part of this was what made it so great. NAW wasn't out there against some future G-leaguer.

NAW is going to be one of those guys you look back on and wonder how so many teams passed on him. I was really excited when we drafted him. He has a few NBA ready skills to hang his hat on while the rest of his game fills out. And perhaps, most importantly, he came across as a very self aware person in the little that I read and watched of him leading up to the draft.

Kid has such a mature game and he’s only freaking 20. I really think he’s gonna be a starter in the next year or so. Idk this is a good problem to have overall. Would love to see the preseason practices
