I would gladly trade CP3/Okafor/Posey to NYC for Chandler/Curry/Randolph/Gallinari

I really believe CP3's gone. We trade him, and he takes the bad contracts with him. I think Randolph can be a very good player if he grows up.

Curry and Peja's contracts come off the books after this year, and we sign Marc Gasol.

If Randolph didn't go to LSU nobody would want him as much

He averaged almost 12 7 and 2 blocks in only 22 minutes a game. He's got serious potential IMO

Where you want him to go? I doubt NJ gives up Lopez, and the Magic have nothing of value to offer

And if he went to Ole Miss or Arkansas would you be putting up as much of a fight to get him? And he may have potential, but you don't trade the best PG in the World for someone with potential

They wouldn't give up Roy or Aldridge, and Oden is a huge risk.

Paul stopped short of putting his name on a trade request. That was by design, for two reasons: Publicly requesting a trade would've subjected Paul to a fine, and further escalating the matter would've hurt the Hornets' ability to get fair value in a trade. Also, sources say Paul doesn't have the personality for a direct, face-to-face trade demand and the kind of fallout that would result. So he is comfortable letting CAA, which successfully aligned LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, handle it through backchannels.

This is, in a nutshell, what I was worried about when I heard the good news earlier today.

The Portland trade isn't bad. The Vanilla Gorilla would be a major hit.

1. chandler (solid 2 we may need)
2. galinari (peja's 3 poin role)
3. randolph (future stud)
4. we get rid of $20M+ (for many years) in contracts

if the hornets expect to deal cp3 alone, we should expect a bounty of players

if the hornets expect to deal cp3 and okafor (and possibly posey), the team in return will not have to send as many players b/c they're taking on some shitty contracts

So the 2 deals present are

1. with the Knicks-CP3/Okafor/Posey for Gallinari/Chandler/Curry/Randolph/Cash

2. with Portland-CP3/Okafor/JuJu for Oden/Miller/Batum/Pryz/Fernandez

I think its obvious the Portland deal is better, although there are some question marks with Oden and his health, and Rudy Fern on whether he wants to play in the states or not.

But my question is would you rather take the lesser deal with the Knicks to keep Paul out of the Western Conference and have him teamed with Amare and noone else, rather than him teaming with Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge?

Would you rather trade A to the Knicks or trade B to the Blazers?

I think the Portland deal is far better, but the Knicks deal isn't horrible. It would be nice if the Knicks deal could include picks; however, the Knick have probably already dealt their picks through 2020.

Wouldn't Fernandez want to stay in the NBA if we offered him a starting position.

You would hope so, I would like the Portland deal best, with our roster looking like this

PG-Collison/Miller
SG-Fernandez/Thornton
SF-Batum/Pondexter
PF-D West/Brackins
C-Oden/Pryz

I really like MT5 coming off the bench in a 6th man role. If Oden says healthy(big if), we all know what kind of athlete he is.

We would probably then trade D West, Posey, Songaila, Peja, etc. continuing our youth movement
