Although I do have to admit, one reason why I like Buddy is because I think he's a killer, which is something that can't be quantified.

Ingram has a higher floor? No way
I don't trust a ton of NBA teams to figure out how to use Simmons because of his unorthodox size/game. Ingram is the easier fit; he's like the taaka of wings- mixes easy.
I do think Simmons has the potential to be a top 10 guy. Not so sure about that with Ingram. If I'm rebooting a franchise, I would probably take my chances with Simmons.

I just think Simmons steps in day 1 and is already an above average rebounder and passer for his position
If he didn't get better in any other facet at all he's still a key rotational player w those skills imo

I agree. I just wonder, if say the Lakers get him, how do they maximize his tremendous passing gifts with Russell and Clarkson dominating the ball?
Granted, he is 19. No rush to figure these things out now.

I don't see why Philly would pass on Simmons.

Personal connections can decide a talent toss up, see Austin Rivers at 10. Also, it'd be monumentally stupid if you're at the top of the draft and pick fit of your current roster instead of BPA and possibly transcendent talent.
quote:
"Think of . . . the unusual circumstance to end up where I have personally ended up with the history that I've had with the [Simmons] family and the coaches that have coached him," said Brown, who coached Simmons' father, David, with the Tigers. "I know very, very closely the people that have worked with him across the board."
Brown said that was one of the benefits of living in Australia, 20 minutes away from the Simmons family, for so many years

I agree.
But that's assuming Philadelphia doesn't believe Ingram will be as good as Simmons. And that Philadelphia is smart enough to go with BPA, fit and negative press be damned.
