Okay, so here is my question… if this individual becomes an all star in the next few years and you return to argue this bad value trade… What do you think the responses will be? My prediction, you’ll get a laughably large amount of downvotes and ridicule.
If the Pels end up having no pick next year and their pick or the Bucks’ ends up to 3 or 4? Yes. It’s a bad trade. You gave up another top prospect for the right to draft a good player.
It’s not about the player. It’s about what you gave up for them by not protecting the pick. The trade is bad irrelevant if what the player becomes. Do you not understand that?
My guess is Dumars dumbass thinks Queen is the next Ben Wallace. Undersized center
I literally think he is trying to rebuild that 2003-2004 Pistons team he won with. Except with his strategy from after that team that helped destroy the Pistons.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Dumars doesn't even know he gave up control of next year's draft.
Yeah control of the “random” ball selection process

I mean, if you are trying to find the negative in everything. If he turns out to be awesome, and you call people idiots for thinking the gamble didn’t pay off… then what are we even talking about?
I already explained this

In poker, going all-in for 5x pot on the turn when you have a 2-outer can work if that 5% hits on the river, but does that make it a good decision in hindsight if you find yourself on the good side of that variance? Or was it always a bad decision with a small chance of working out (without the expected value to justify the risk)?

Traded two 2026 draft picks for Queen. WTF

Again, bs. This isn’t the nfl with dozens of players. You need to land and luck out on a handful as your base then bench. What core starters are we working with reliably?
This gamble may fail and is more likely than not. That said, if our picks hit I really don’t think folks will be bummed about it

It’s not BS. Top 4 picks are far more likely to be successful than later picks in the lottery. Don’t kid yourself.
They allow much more flexibility and an ability at a better shot for a better player that fills a key need.
Instead, you think it is fine just to give up that potential for no reason.
There was no reason to not protect the picks.

Why not trade the next year first ? Lmao you all never learn tabking don’t work , we lose all year and get another no 9-13 pick lol no difference

Man reading reports on Queen and it makes the trade even more terrible.
Undersized, unathletic big who tires on D and sucks.
Could be an offensive 4 who puts up stats on a bad team, but we have Zion.

But the draft isn't random chance! This isn't about probabilities; it's about scouting and analysis.
There was lots of talk in the last few days that we might take Queen with #7. Dumars obviously believes that Queen was worthy of being selected with that spot. It's clear that, in Dumars's mind, he wasn't trading up to #13, but up to #7, since that's where he had slotted him.
As I said, I have zero problem with that ... today. But Dumars has to be right, or the trade will define his tenure here in New Orleans. Because, as everyone agrees, it's a terrible trade on paper.

It is terrible
It isn't also what's going to define our draft position next year either.
That part is on Zion trey and Poole to win some fricking games

Where did I say it was guaranteed? But you are the one not understanding there was a chance. Now it is guaranteed……that the Pelicans will not have a 1st round pick at all next season and have no shot at a top 4 pick.
Again, you make deals with those things considered, but typical stupidity between this ownership and a leader that everyone laughed at the Pels for hiring are doing exactly the stupid things people thought he would.

We don’t have a draft position next year. We don’t have a pick.
