Sooo many parallels between Saints and Pels

I'll start by saying I think the Pels have a lot more talent than the Saints but there are so many similarities:
- Saints have no franchise QB, which you must have in the NFL. Carr is a bad leader and no one really likes or believes in him. His family is a problem. Pels have no legit superstar, which you must have in the NBA. Zion is an underachieving player with tons more potential than Carr, but he's not dedicated and also has a bad family guiding him and enabling him.
- Allen and Willie are both bad coaches. Allen is worst by a lot and Green is infinitely more likable but both are bottom 5 in the league as far as ability.
- Injuries - What more can be said. Something is very wrong with how often these teams suffer injuries.
- Delusional GM/VP - Loomis and Griffin are ultimate con artists selling Gayle on a pipe dream. Neither will admit their biggest mistakes and keep doubling down. Griff is a little better IMO at trying to fix mistakes but he's been anchored to hope that Zion/Ingram will turn into something they're not. Both need to go.
- Gayle - Everything starts at the top. There is no accountability. People praise Gayle for stepping in and firing Allen. Oh wow, so brave. After three years, she fired a bottom 3 coach in NFL history and the worst Saints coach of all time.
We can reshuffle the chairs on the deck of the Titanic but as long as Gayle, Griff and Loomis are in charge, this is what it is.

What has Carr’s family ever done?

Saints have no franchise QB
They have a statistically top 15 QB in the NFL, that should be good enough to get to the playoffs.

Allen is not a bad coach. He’s a bad head coach, but he is an elite DC. Willie is a bad coach all around it seems as he has no scheme, all he has is “players like me”

Both training staffs have been completely redone the last few seasons, last year Pels actually had a pretty decent year health wise, this year i dunno what’s going on. Saints injuries likely can be attributed to Allen’s “Warm up if you want” policy. We have to wait and see.

With the Saints the cap cannot be fixed in one season, and the FO has a mindset that tearing down to the studs rarely works out good in the NFL, and frankly they’re right.
You talking about Griff being delusional like he didn’t just try all offseason to find ANYONE to take Ingram… He’s also added shooters, a PG, smaller faster centers that fit better than a lumbering big. The problem here is the HC and his “.5 play faster, but I don’t know anything other than that” scheme. I expect Willie will be gone sooner rather than later.

Gayle
Is exactly what you want in an owner. She writes checks and spends money and stays out of the day to day side of things she knows nothing about.

Gayle stepped up and fired DA by going around Loomis. She showed me a lot there. I wasn’t a huge Gayle supporter but this changed my view. I can promise you they’re not liking what they’re seeing from the pelicans and I can see similar actions coming soon.

I know Griff has adjusted after bad drafts and has done really well in the draft the last few years, but he's hired two coaches who aren't good. He can't hire a third. He's wasted the war chest we once had and has been terrible every offseason.
Griff needs to go, but I doubt that happens.
WIllie has to be let go. I do'nt care what he says, or who's playing, the offense has been terrible since he's been here, and even worse in the clutch. The last 3 minutes of that game last night was just a masterclass in how not to be a successful coach.
Let Borego coach. His Hornets teams shot 38 3's his last year there, and 37 the year before, and that was a team full of injuries and a limited roster.
It's not a roster problem when a team doesn't shoot 3's. Borego left and the Hornets went from a team in the top 10 shooting 3's, to shooting 32 and 34 3's a game the two years after he left.
Last 5 games we shot 30, 31, 27, 35, 38 (and 11 of those came in the 4th quarter as the game got of out hand and were shot by Cain and Reeves).
Even before that we shot 31, 36, 22, 31, 37.
It seems obvious whatever his input is on the team isn't being heard or implemented.
We are dead last in the league in 3PA per game.
We are 4th to last in PACE.
We are 2nd to last in Opponent Points in the Paint, and 4th to last in Opponent Fast Break Points.
So we don't try to get into our offense quickly, and we dont' get back on defense either.
Those are stats that show you've lost the players as a coach.

Only thing I don’t agree with. Stan is a good coach, we were just in a transition that year and he had Bledsoe and Adams who both were not very good, combine that with a young team and looking back we may have won more games than we should have.
Personally I think if you give Stan the rosters Willie has had these past three years, we break 50 wins, have top 4 seeding and win at least one playoff series.
Sucks Ingram and Hart didn’t like him which is why he was fired

I know what you mean, and I do like Stan and think he's a decent coach, but he wasn't the right coach for that team at that time after Gentry.

Yeah, right coach wrong time. He would be the type of coach we need right now to follow Willie.

Terrible leadership. Terrible strategy. Terrible attitudes.
For those that don't remember, this is what NOLA sports looked like pre Drew Brees.

We won't do it I'd guess because Gayle isn't willing to pay another fired coach, and you probably have to fire Griff if you fire Willie, and that's more money out the door that Gayle isn't willing to do or make the best moves so she can save money.

The biggest mistake they made was doing that secret extension with Willie. Unless that extension had some secret outclause where if Willie gets fired they wouldn’t have to pay him or it would be a minimum pay out.
